My what?
Where do I get a gamer score?
And more importantly, what do I need it for?

I've actually gone out of my way to avoid getting achievements because I hate when people are like "ooh look at me i have 70 bajillion gamerscore!" and i refuse to sink down to their level.

I just like getting the achievements, mostly after I've played the game once just for the challenge of it.

They tell me what I have to do in a game. If I'm not having fun, I'm not going to try for the achievements.

Meh there just something fun microsoft added into the games. I know it sounds really shallow but its easier to tell people apart from the amount of gamerscore
<10K- Usually plays online games like cod or halo, usually a bit of a dick
10k-30k- a human being who plays lots of different games and is learning about a variety of different genres which is always good
31k+ - usually an achievement whore, not always a bad thing mind.
These are really shallow and obviously its better to talk to them but it can give a good starting point on most people
I disagree.
I have 5000 points, I don't play online and I have about 15 games which I play on and off casually. had my 360 for a year.
When I am online I am not a dick and just enjoy playing the game, only using my mic when neccessarry.
So I am actually quite insulted by this.
Of course it doesn't apply to everyone, I have several good friends with 10k and others with 40k, but it is handy. I also said "usually a dick" not always

I find myself going for achievements until I realise that i'm not actually enjoying the game anymore. Prime example being COD4, breaking my controller in anger after dying for the bazillionth time trying to complete 'no fighting in the war room' on veteran. Stupid Infinity Ward!

Lol I know how you feel, but I found Gears of War 2 on insane harder than cod 4 veteran.

I don't care for my gamerscore. I do however enjoy getting achievements. But I'm not bothered if I get them or not, or their value. I'm very much a casual gamer.

Nothing.....absolutely nothing. I play video games for the sake of only playing them, and don't participate in the online penis measuring contests.

Meh, I don't care about achievements, that said, it does feel nice when you hear that little blip telling you that you've unlocked something.

To me its just something to do. It entertains me, and seems to make people believe I'm amazing. As if me being level 1 on BF:BC for a few days Didn't prove that point.

if they would award microsoft points based on your gamerscore then sure it would mean alot.
