What does your mental landscape look like?

My mind is basically a room within a room. The samll one is actually biiger on the inside than the outside, like the Tardis, and the room surrounding that room is basically the wholeof all my memories compiled to create a ground and sky which obviously changes constantly. The rest of that room holds everything else that I've seen, heard, tasted, touched, smelled. Now that samll room metioned earlier is basically my place to manage all of it and organize it in a somewhat clean way, thats why its so big. The small room is white to give me some sense of openess. The outside of that room is ever expanding and quite scary because of my clashing ideas and own personal demons.

Cold, dark, and confusing. A vast, burned out wasteland filled with promising features that crumble to ash when approached with hope. Footprints accompanying trails of blood droplets. Golden spires off in the distance, a bright blue sky of clouds atop a mountain peak only accessible by a long, crumbling staircase all but fallen to pieces. Once in every while, a fleeting glimpse of sunlight will glimpse through the clouds and illuminates the path, but fades as quickly as it appears. The soft sobbing of a girl some how never more than a short while away, wounded and chained away, too terrifying to approach.

But that's just being rather melodramatic.

A lot of people are describing their ideal mental "happy place" but I figured the point was slightly... darker.

It's two separate parts. One is a small cabin in the woods. It's surrounded by evergreens. Powdery snow is falling. You feel it crunching beneath your feet. It's cold there, but pleasantly so. It's quiet, but not silent. It's peaceful. Inside the cabin it's warm and small, but not claustrophobic. There's a fire burning in the stone hearth. The warmth penetrates you and you feel at ease. It's familiar. Safe. There's a clear, blue river running along the edge.
Across the river it's quite different. It's hot, sticky. It's a jungle, but it's burning. Everything's on fire. The sounds of battle are deafening. It's chaos. War. There's fire and carnage everywhere. It's not safe, but it holds promise. Not the promise of peace, but the promise of conquest. You could live here as a god. You will be the source of the death and you will bow this savage land to your will. Power. You need only grasp it.

Kinda a varied landscape now, it's always growing and whatnot. The center is a beautiful cavern with a deep pool surrounded by greenery and twisting rose vines. Out from there is the rest of the caves, then the outside with green fields and deep forests, high mountains, a pristine ocean and vast desert. It seems to be populated with characters from my RPGs and stuffed animal companions personified, as well as creatures from various internet games I play.
This thread caught my eye, because the biggest RPG I've played ever has been one with the concept that people's imaginations create a conjoined multiverse just lingering beneath the surface of reality. Each of the worlds we create, either something like the DC or Marvel universe, or the universe Silent Hill takes place in, or anything of that nature; or the world of our own personal mind... it could all theoretically interact with the right knowhow.
At first it was the biggest fanfic of all time, but it's been running for 8+ years now, and gained a distinction of its own. So, by reading this thread, in a way I'm getting a postcard from the next place I could visit...
Keep an eye out for a nerdy angelic person ;D

PPS: Come and visit, I have cookies X3

mine is a deceptively simple empty white room. but when you look closer, you find that the sterile white walls are made of really tiny tiles; look closer and you see that those tiles are made of interlocking spheres; look further still and those spheres are held together by villages of microscopic organisms; deeper down those villagers are made of collections of cells, with there own factions, battling over control of the mind; look into those cells to find a complex network of organic machinery running their very life, examine the gearwork and industrial equipment and you find...

...that you would really rather just call it a white room and be done with it.

story of my life. sorry for the metaphysical mindf**k...

I took a couple of Facebook tests and they all agree my mind is a volcano. Cool, but really? I don't put much stock into Facebook quizzes but when they all agree on one thing? Eep.

A short-circuiting power plant. Lots of sparks, loud bangs from arcing, and every once in awhile something happens to make it look and sound like a flashbang just went off. But when it's running, it's really putting out a lot of power.
