First off it would have to be the passes. When I want to see how a game is I normally just go out and rent it. However this is a major issue when I want to try out the online (At least give me a 5 day trial with no restrictions or something) or I miss out on a chunk of the game (I guess an example of this would be the Cat Women parts of Batman Arkham City). I didn't buy a lot of good game due to my hate towards these passes. (Far Cry 3 and Darksiders 2)

DLC.Dlc is generally a good thing. It can expand a game that you love for many hours and give you some extra information on your favorite characters or places. However it seems like all that Dlc is good for is getting even more money from poorly made content. Not to mention the general price hike of the Dlc. I remember when we got six multiplayer maps for ten dollars, and they were good maps.

Broken check points when I'm playing a game on the hardest difficulty. When I spend two hours trying to pass one part only to get a checkpoint the 50th time through will get me raging.

Being lied to by developers about there products.

It's already been mentioned, but unskippable long cutscenes. If you put it right before a tough boss fight that I'm going to die at several times...Please just relax and let Satan politely escort you to your spot in game developer hell, right below forced stealth missions and just above escort missions with dumb AI.

Also, parts in games that take away your equipment. I can understand why it's done, but for the most part it sucks.

I guess also stupidity in games. As in, a plot twist you can see coming a mile away...but when it happens the game punishes you for going along with it and treats you like you were stupid...though you had to do it to keep playing.

What enrages me about gaming?

The high cost of owning a console. Wouldn't bother me, except some games are exclusives such as New Super Mario Bros Wii. Been waiting over 3 years for the price to drop, and it hasn't. I go to Wii's virtual console to download the mario bros for the SNES, and it will cost me 10 bucks even though the game is over 20 years old. Eveeeeeen worse the game actually costs 8 bucks, but I have to pay 10 cause that is the minimum amount I can spend to purchase Wii "points"!!!

Hate consoles, will not buy another one.

Having to deal with Bullshit.
This tends to come in three varieties.
1) Players deciding to sitting and waiting for someone to walk through the door they're staring at with a one-shot weapon readied. It just makes the game boring, it's a lot more fun when people are trying different things and just having a laugh as opposed to sitting and waiting.
2) Connection issues. When someone is slap bang in the middle of my screen they really shouldn't be behind me, especially when I have a decent connection. This would also include insta-kills that shouldn't have been, being killed round corners, etc. etc.
3) Just bad design. You should not spawn in crossfire. People are not -literally- invisible for some reason (unless that's actually a part of the game). And having a world easier to clip through than it is to walk through is bullshit.

Then there's bullshit that PCs throw at you. I love them and they're beautiful but JESUS CHRIST DO I HATE HOW THEY RANDOMLY DECIDE NOT TO WORK FOR NO DISCERNABLE REASON.

Games that are nothing but endless set-pieces and cinimatics with only monotonous shooting in between. I don't even know how these things can be classified as games any more, since there is no 'game' to be had anywhere here.
While I agree with the point being made about the problem games have, your definition of "game" is a little faulty considering the first computer games were things like Space Invaders, Pong and PacMan. Games that had an analogue stick and one or two buttons and were literally a case of "Once you have played this game for 5 minutes you have seen all it has to offer."
With all due respect I disagree with your opinion on arcade games that you can play them for 5 mins and "seen it all" when there is alot of depth of play and strategy in Arcade games. Unfortunately much of this is lost upon westerners who just credit feed to see what content it has to offer and leaving it at that, rather than sticking with one credit or playing for score.

This works perfectly into my pet peeve, how it seems that single player games are changing from low content but skill based that encourages replayablity to content rich, lots of padding that players experience never to replay. That's not to say skill based mainstream games have disappeared, but they are all MP focused.

Pet peeve #2 is how multiplat gaming has spread the playerbase too thin for any MP game that is slightly niche. Either release the game on 1 platform or include cross platform play. It sucks buying a MP game to discover it's dead on your platform of choice and the only option I have it to rebuy the game to find ppl to play with.

When the game forces me to act out of character/like a complete idiot, like not shooting that god child in the face, or Connor in AC 3 turning into a complete pussy and almost getting himself killed.

I also hate moral choice systems that completely misinterpret my actions, like pretty much every Deus Ex H.R. ending.

-CHEATING (especially online): If its in the game but is strangely overpowered thats ok, it was clearly the developers fault for not balancing the weapon tactic, ect. and if you like using that cheap feature then to each their own. BUT but, if you are HACKING OR MODING for the sole purpose of winning and you boast about it, I want you to take your game and either take it back to where you bought it or smash it over your GODDAMN HEAD!!! Cause if you're not willing to play the game as it was meant to be played then take that crap offline cause we don't want anything to do with it it or you.

-THE INDUSTRY: You got EA, you got Capcom, you got Square, you got Gearbox and so on. Do you realize that you are making people mad with every. single. decision. you make. If you want money sooooooo bad, either tell us to our face instead of lie and lie and lie or earn our money. And stop treating your employees like hamsters on wheels. People aren't numbers, they're clearly people.

-GAMERS: Why do you people sit back and take ^^^THEIR^^^ bull crap in the ass?! WHY?! Does integrity/self respect/reasoning exist? Please God tell me it exists! Cause if ignorance continues, games will continue to get worse.

-REALISM/EDGY/GRIT: Its a video game, did you know it can be more then just "THAT" over and over again. Thats pretty much all I have to say about "THAT"...

-GAMEBREAKING CUTSCENES: I don't mind cutscenes just as long as they have good exposition and have a story and characters worth sitting to watch until the gameplay kicks in. But when there are cutscenes during gameplay I want to shot myself. Way to break the flow I was in by having me look at the dramatic close up of the boss after I press that button you forced me to press CAN I PLAY NOW?!

-DIFFICULTY: A majority of games are easy these days anyways but this I never understood. Very Easy: Is Very Easy. Easy: Is Very Easy. Normal: Is Very Easy. Hard: Is Very Easy. Very Hard: Is impossible.

-THAT GUY AGAIN: Why do I have to fight the same boss again?! Why Hideki Kamiya?! Why?!

-MORAL CHOICE: I'm not saying all games but for a majority of them no matter how much of a hero or dick you are, it always comes down to choosing 2-3 endings. With all the moral choice games I've played I bet there are 3,452 different endings amongst the 24 generic good/bad endings I got that I so rightfully deserve.

Well, having just beaten DA:O Awakening last night, I guess the one that comes immediately to mind is obvious laziness.

Like when all you get for your ending scene is static pictures and text. Or when that text tells you a character is alive who very clearly died in the previous game, thereby completely ignoring story continuity. Or when the quests that are supposed to add depth to companion characters boil down to "go talk to this NPC-->quest complete!"

I seriously enjoyed it overall, but it's distracting when you can clearly identify areas that were rushed.

What probably makes me the most mad in gaming is jumping off buildings in the wrong direction and falling to my ultimate doom.
Also when I'm playing GTA IV is getting hit, falling over, and as soon as I get up it happens again. This usually repeats until I die.
It's usually unnecessary deaths.

The notion that everyone wants to play, or is interested in multiplayer. This is especially true in the Assassin's Creed games. The multiplayer seems meaningless to me, and it's space that could have been better utilized with additional story.

In gaming overall, this streak of extremely terrible Unity engine garbage Slender-style games that don't have any redeeming value at all. This goes for any Boo! horror "collect/place x of y before z jumps/runs at you" crap. I get it, Slender was a thing, stop it.

In-game stuff...I get mostly upset at games that allow for me to hit a progression wall without the ability to go back and grind up on items or experience. Small annoyance, I suppose, as I can reload a earlier save (supposing I thought to make one), but it's still a pain.

The power suddenly going off just before a big fight!
Steam not letting me play in offline mode when I have no internet connection.
Other players arguing with me about how I should play.

Modern video games as a whole infuriate me, and the communities behind them are even worse. The fact that "gamer entitlement" is something someone can say without being ridiculed by hundreds of people is nothing short of fucking disgusting. Standards have fallen as well. A lame, lazy, cashed-in joke of a game like Borderlands shouldn't be winning any awards, and the fact that so few people recognize Heavy Rain as one of the worst games of all time(which it is) makes me physically sick to my stomach.
Gamers like this is what I was talking about. If people not hating a game makes you physically ill you really need a reality check.

I hate it when I play games that let me make custom characters, but for some reason do not allow me to make an brown skinned person. Dragon Age and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning( the demo at least, never got the game) are shit about this. Kinda bugs me in the Fable series, but to a lesser extent.
You can make a black person in Dragon Age?
You can try, but you will be disappointed with the results. Especially when you play a nobel human and, while you look kinda sorta not a all like a brown person, your whole family is obviously caucasian. Fucking disappoints me.

Hackers, Exploiters and cheaters in general make me rather unhappy, I don't see the point of ruining someone elses fun in a game and it shows some very sociopathic behaviour to enjoy causing grief to other players without them being able to do a thing about it.

What gets me more is these people get very angry when you dare to report them or they get banned for their transgressions and often don't seem to understand that what they're doing is very wrong.
