What "final boss," or "final battle," do you hate the most?

I've got two.

The first is Macgruder from Gun. The game is retardedly easy, making you feel like you're really good at the game, and then you get to Macgruder and it becomes punishingly difficult. I died at least 19 times before I even figured out what I was supposed to do, which I had to look up on the computer.

The second, well, it's not a boss per se, but Green Grass and High Tides was the last song on guitar in Rock Band, so I guess it counts. There hasn't been any other song that took me that long just to beat it, and it's not even fun to play! Well, unless you beat it so you can gloat to your friends saying, "Guess what I spent the last month of my life doing?", being all smug and stuff.

The last Tentacle fucker in Conan (PS3).
There's always a pattern to those type of fights but this one was just retardly stupid. I don't know if it was poor planning on the Developers part or just a suddenly unresponsive control scheme, but shit the bed.

The Final boss of Earthworm Jim 3D on the N64.

I don't know how many times I got 99 marbles only to get hit and lose 20 of them right away. By far the most frustrating gaming experience of my life.

Halo 3s final boss was not satisfying at all. I mean all I had to do was shoot it a few times.
i have to combat the halo 3 final boss complaint. the final boss was not the probe. the final boss was driving the warthog over the massive amounts of falling plates and tipping towers and collapsing tunnels. on legendary, it took me and three other people around an hour to complete.

This. grrrr...

I only beat it 1st time because I had 2 fairies... and even then it was close (1 + 1/4 hearts remaining)...

I can't really think of much else *looks up at games shelf for inspiration*

...

ah, yes...

In Jade Empire:
Master Li: After he manipulated you the whole time and killed you. He wasn't even very hard...

hmm... Lucius is defiantly a contender... it was all very anti-climactic...

bosses that were ridiculously hard... Avatar: Burning Earth's stupid vine-man... very repetitive, very tough and not really worth the effort playing to the point, since you could get all 4 achievements (that's right.. 4.. lame) within the first 5 minutes of game play...

id love a Yahtzee review of that atrocity... :)

Seth from STreet fighter 4. Before the patch he always was on very hard difficulty no matter what kind of difficulty u ´ve chosen.

Sin in Final Fantasy X. I love the game, and I love the story line that surrounds the final battle, but I didn?t put in 100+ hours of play time to beat the final boss with one attack. It?s just not right.

I hated the last battle in Crisis Core.
It was far to easy. You spend the whole game chasing after Genesis and all you get is that?
fuuuuuuuuu-
ugh even worse is the final "battle" I spent all that time preparing to kill the goddess superboss, manage to do so easily yet I still had to sit through that ending? Kept getting the heal random event thingy took me 20 minutes to actually die when I just gave up and waited it out

Same thing I will always list for boss threads.

Vergil the final time in DMC 3 on Dante Must Die. There is nothing more infuriating than a boss with regenerating health. If you don't keep up your attack you'll loose all you progress in the fight. On top of that Vergil uses sort of a Super Devil Trigger that makes him damn near impossible to hit.
Oddly enough he was easy for me to kill with beowolf, it was the boss before him Arkham? that was the difficult one for me.

Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time.

They build him up to be the ultimate badass and the ultimate form of pure evil douchbagery, and yet, I still beat him without even dying once.

Lame.
Yep.

I found Bongo Bongo much harder than Ganon. It was really tricky trying to aim at him because the controls for the bow were so fiddly.

Then again I played the gamecube version so it may have been more user friendly with the N64 controller.

Fable 2 felt like it gave up in trying to test me by the "final boss"

Halo 3 annoyed me, they just copy pasted it from CE.

and on the topic of Halo, the NPCs can't aim or drive to save themselves,

in ODST, I ended up getting out the Warthog and just twatting the enemies because Buck was useless at gunning.

oh and even though The Driver mission in GTA Vice City wasn't a final mission, it was nigh on impossible, it actually stopped me gaming for about a month.

bah!

I thought it was a bit easier on the Gamecube controller, but thats just me.

Still, the the big dinosaur thing (Lord Dodonngo I think...?) at the second level was harder than Ganon in both forms.

contributing my own I'd have to say the Yiazmat in FF12, had 50,000,000 HP could wipe out 3/4 of your health to everyone in one hit, his regular hits would usually just insta-kill you. You couldn't regularly hit him for more then 9,999 and once yougot him to a certain amount of health half I think, his defense rises so you can't deal more hten 6,999 to him.

think it took me 5 or 6 hours to kill, the only saving grace is you could leave the area save rebuff and go back in and he'll have only healed a hundred thousand or so while you were gone.

not fun just punishing

Edit: Was looking through a strategy on him for nostalgia sake, forgot he could case reflectaga on you and if you were to cast renew on yourself ot heal your entire part, he'd be back to full health

And I found Jabbu Jabbu's belly more annoying than the Water Temple.

Funny difficulty curve in Ocarina, it has to be said.

Same here.

That fucking princess got on my nerves in Jabbu Jabbu. That, along with those weird electric claw looking things (the ones that if you hit with your sword will shock you) made it the hardest level next to the Forest Temple. I hated having to track down all the ghosts and twisting the whole place around about a thousand times.

The princess was SUCH a pain in the ass... but we shouldn't be too hard on her, it wasn't her fault she got landed in an escort mission.

The problem with that level was that until you got the Boomerang you had no defense against anything in the dungeon, it was very unfair.

Forest temple was tough too, a great test of spatial awareness. But honestly I had the most trouble with the Shadow Temple. Jumping over invisible pits was not fun!

Thats what I liked about it. Not being able to know where the safe spot is unless you use the Lense of Truth or whatever its called. That was fun for me.

But, my personal favorite was the Spirit Temple. Everything about it was great. The puzzles, the boss, the little story that goes with it, and (of course) the music.

Yeah the spirit temple was really fun. It was the easiest of them all too so you could justchill and take in the cool scenery and atmosphere. The two sisters were great fun to fight.

Took me a while to figure out how to open the big head though... I felt rather silly over that...

Best music in the game? All of it was amazing but I loved the spanish bandit music the most.

We have derailed this thread into an Ocarina appreciation-fest!
