What "final boss," or "final battle," do you hate the most?

Mother. Fucking. Seth.

I hate that bastard. I would be hard-pressed to find a better 2D fighter had Street Fighter IV not had that son of a *****.

I did not mind that so much because it was more of a cinimatic that you played. Theres not a difficult part of the last level its just epic. your watching first hand the final blow aginst the enclave. And liberty prime blows alota shit up thats a plus.

The lambent Brumack from Gears 2. All you have to do is hold down the fire button for about 15 seconds.
in my oppinion gears 2 just failed epicly in the story department. the first was epic and tense. gears 2 was prdictable and the voice acting just phoned it in. the soul of the characters just wasnt there like in the first one
yeah because rampaging around beneath the surface of a world on the back of a giant shaved battle armoured monkey is predictable, let me guess, you also found a level where the main threat was you could drown in your enemy's blood to be to similar to when you did that in call of duty and all the other shooters?

when I first saw the lambent brumak I sat there stunned for a minute as i watched the death jaws appear, but fighting it was easier than I expected so it was kind of a let down...

but at least it wasnt a quick time event!

i hated aries from Spartan Total Warrior on the PS2 (fun game of hack and slash), he was a patern boss who swamped you with random groups of enemies, including big guys with bigger swords and roman flamethrowers while you had to work out his attack patterns

but it was good to finally beat him down because you were killing the god of war

Resi 5. Not because it was hard, but it kept glitching out and making me replay the entire chapter, then not giving me credit for it AT ALL.

Anyboss that has no reason to still be living. "I just shot you in the face, why are you still alive".

That or bosses that are supposed to be your "equal" but have several times your health or power.

Lord Lucien, anyone?
Nah, at least the end of Fable 2 had some humor in it. Unlike some games...

Mine will always be WizPig from Diddy Kong Racing. I wasted damn near two years of my life just to beat him once, then I realized I had to go play the entire game again just to unlock the stupid space world and finish him off. That was 9 years ago, and I still have every single track etched into my mind because of him. On the plus side, at least I had Banjo helping me out.

The end boss at Paper Mario: Thousand Year door was pretty bad too. After trying to beat it two days in a row, I gave up and got an Action Replay. When I figured out there was more to the game after the end, I just turned it off. I haven't touched it since.

Then there was the final battle in Need for Speed: Most Wanted. I swear, I must have driven around the same city block 50 times just to wait for the roadblock to open up before I got pulled over right outside of the goal. The last run was pretty epic though. Somehow I managed to overshoot the goal and caused a turn pile-up on the highway. I was literally caught driving around in circles inside a ring of cop cars before I slipped through and charged through the gates. I traded it in to Game Stop the same day I beat it.

Something about me and racing games I suppose.

Oh I agree. The core is ridiculously easy once you know how to beat it. It's just that the first time I fought it I had low health from the exo fight, and I wasn't prepared for the stupid Metroid spawns. The second time the power went our right when I was about to beat. The third time I was able to wipe the floor with it.

I liked the exo fight. It was fun and challenging and felt like an appropriate final boss. Which just makes it worse when the core comes along and sours the whole experience.
That is one thing about the Prime games--(most) boss fights are appropriately challenging. And wow, that power outage would have made me go absolutely bonkers and blitz out. I actually liked when it spawned Metroids, because a quick Super Bomb drop and I had more health again. The only hard part of the Core was figuring out which visor to use, but even then, after a few seconds you learn the pattern. And while I agree that the core wasn't the most optimal of bosses, it did at least make sense to go from the Exo to the core, demolishing the damn thing with Phazon-infused awesomeness (which I do feel would have been too awkward to put into the Exo fight).
LOL, I mentioned this fight as my favorite in my earlier post. I guess it all comes down to preference. But me? I could think of a few bosses in the prime series that were a disappointment given the high expectations we all have of them, but overall MP is the very definition of well thought out boss battles. Imho, always imho :)

Strider battle in HL2 was hard but it wasn't the final

The one at the end if HL2:Ep2 would of been very hard, if you didn't have the sticky bombs

I know this isn't really a valid complaint, but Zodiark ( FFXII ) went down in 6 attacks or so for me, and for being the last esper, thats pretty disappointing, I was hoping for some lonnnnng boss fight that had me rushing for the megalixirs, but no dice

Fontaine in Bioshock, biggest letdown of all time. The whole game had annoying as hell enimies, then that boss comes along and just ruins it... Did you know you didn't even need to hit him? You can run around and WAIT for him to go back on the thing then use the adam needle. If your health is high enough, you don't need any weapons or plasmids...
