It's not really quick save, since anything on the PSP needs too many menus to save, but the Gradius Collection. Some of the levels are nigh impossible to get through on a single play through, so I find myself saving every five seconds in the hopes that I've passed a checkpoint.

A little old game that goes by the name of Abe's Exodus.
Dammit, that was a brilliant fething game... I wish they would make more of it's kind (In 2D, not 3D).
I would have really struggled to complete it without auto-save...

In every game that has quick save, a save all the time. Because I'm a fucking coward. Really, I save after every corner.
Which is why I really like games that omit this function, because quicksaving all the time can spoil the experience A LOT. I like the system Mass Effect uses: You can quicksave, but only if there are no enemies in the vicinity.

That's just to prevent you quicksaving a milisecond before you get a lethal headshot.

7.62 High Calibre.

You haven't seen quick save until you've played either Brigade E5 or 7.62 (E6).

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. It was always a good idea to quicksave just before taking that first shot on an enemy camp and hoping for the best. It's also a good idea not to miss.

That might well be, but either way, it also prevents me from saving all the time and ruining the experience. Funnily though, it even gets more restrictive as you proceed in the game - the "vicinity" in ME seems to equate "visibility radius", which improves with leveling and equipped gear. It's a weird abstraction, much like the phenomenon I would like to call "GTA IV Tailing Field of View" - a mechanism which features drivers of tailed vehicles who can spot you from impossible viewing angles whenever you enter a certain radius around the car.
Whatever.

Silent Hill 2 and 3.

Every time the radio goes off I immediate soil myself and quicksave. Silent Hill 4 didn't have quicksaves though!

Crysis and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Splinter Cell only had about one checkpoint per hour-long level, and was pretty brutal. Crysis' is just needed due to the fact that it's the only way to make the stealthy approach and not be seen.
