After watching some boss battles in GOW 3 I was thinking about how the quick time events make the viewer or player feel kind of epic.

So I was wondering do people gain this feeling from other games and if you do what are the games?

I felt pretty bad ass when I beat the Mongol Hoarde, in Medieval 2: Total War, in a few turns. They fell right into my trap.

Call it unoriginal, but I feel pretty damn GARR playing Darksiders or God of War. Sometimes you just need to be a walking, gravely-voiced column of muscle that punches the shit out of monsters, you know? Of course, I also get the same feeling out of my 'veteran' characters in some games; y'know, like Shepard in ME2, or a Nerevarine in Morrowind.

Unreal Tournament, any of them. Especially when you can pull off all of the dodges and techniques, and you're playing against someone of equal skill. Crysis also has its badass moments too, usually in strength mode, like punching through a wall, grabbing someone by the throat, throwing him into the sea, picking up a turtle, killing an enemy with it, and then smacking down everyone left alive. It feels good punching people on that game.

I'll second AC2, because you're fucking invincible, and you can do pretty much anything.

Kratos is badass but nothing makes me feel less badass than pressing X to not die.
GOW3 was an improvement in the sense that you got the prompts on the side of the screen you needed to press but I feel more badass when I get intuitive controls just right.

I tend to feel more badass in games where you're lost at the beginning but you own the setting by the end. Open world games with a lot of over the top action are good for that: gta-Vice City, Just Cause 2, and Fallout 3 to name a few.

[PROTOTYPE] - As much as the game overall was pretty lackluster, performing some of Alex Mercer's more devastating attacks made me feel pretty godly. Grabbing an innocent man in the park, darting up the nearest skyscraper and then leaping as high as I can, throwing the poor guy in mid-air, start falling to the ground whilst I switch into full armor, crash into the ground and sending a few dozen civillians flying into the air. Feels pretty good.

Fallout 3 - Nothing gave me more satisfaction in Fallout 3, than taking out my first Super Mutant Behemoth. That was until I hit level 30 with Almost Perfect, Bobbleheaded my way to 10 in SPECIAL and then hunted down the remaining Behemoths with the Precision Gatling Laser and a full suit of Brotherhood Power Armor.

God of War - First time I beat God mode, I fel like a God. There's nothing more satisfying than using skill (*cough*Valor of Herculese*cough*) to best your clones!

MechWarrior 3. Working your way from the ruins of a botched drop in a lone medium 'mech up to taking down the last stronghold of Smoke Jaguar resistance in a full lance of assault 'mechs is bound to make someone feel badass.

FFXI when the rest of my party wipes and it's just me to solo some badass mob that still has 50% hp and I have to pull out all the stops and somehow just barely kill it. I can't help but feel awesome for killing something by myself that killed 5 people who were attacking it at once.

It really depends what I'm in the mood for. Examples time!

Hitman: Blood Money: This game makes me feel like a badass in the professional, efficient way. Nothing like going into a hotel, making some dead bodies, and walking out without anybody suspecting it was you - and the feeling of tension as you drag a body out of view just before the guard turns...

Bioshock 2: Ok, as far as being a big daddy goes, you're a pretty lightweight one - but once you get that drill charge attack, the feeling of being an unstoppable powerhouse surrounded by people who don't have a prayer returns quite strongly.

Batman: Arkham Asylum: I mean YOU'RE BATMAN. Surrounded by mooks, you just turn into this whirlwind of carnage. They can't land a hit on you, and you just flow through them, like an elemental force that leaves behind only shattered bones and concussion.

God of F**king War! How can you not feel like a beast after ripping Posideons head off in the first five minutes of the story. That takes balls people really it does. Think about it like this what other games start with an epic battle at beginning of the campaign. I'm not talking about a simple tutorial, I'm talkin Colossal-ass monster battles with Zeus, a Giant Statue,
and a f**kin Hydra monster. The PSP games are equally as good at making you feel bad-Ass!!

Medal Gear- You start the final chapter in a desert surrounded by enemy solders and all of your comrades are being killed off. All you have is a machine gun that jams eventually, and a tranqulizer. Good luck.

Call of Duty MW: Forget about the chessy snowmobile scenes, or the ridiculously overpowered Akimbo shotguns, or the pussy ass heartbeat monitors, or the Javelin gliches either for that fact. I speak of the Ghille suit missions, the AC-130 mission, the airport terminal mission where you are mowing down groups of civilians and police officers before eventually being betrayed and shot by your group leader. Those are the moments which make this game badass!

Bioshock- Two reasons: BigDaddys and Little Sisters! This game felt make me feel like I was traveling through an apocalyptic version of Atlantis meets New Oreleans after Katrina except with Zombies and super human abilities which have to be injected into your arm like a drug.
Dr. Badass called and asked for his prescription back.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Run up a building before elbow dropping on to a AA mounted truck, so you're able to rip off the AA missles and throw them at the fleet of attacking helicopters. Then jump up to the last remaining helicopter and kick it at a tank and throw what's left of the tank at a giant robot.

Bad. Ass.
