Chrono Trigger, Planescape: Torment, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, Super Metroid and Shadow of the Colossus are the ones that come to mind right now. I found all of these to be absolutely unbelievable in nearly every aspect.

I'm going to say Half Life 1. It's 13 years old and that puts me in my younger years when I was first exploring video games with my father. I love Half Life 1 and despite it's outdated gameplay, graphics, and very linear environments, I hold it up there with Portal as one of the best games I've ever played.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

Not the best one in terms of multiplayer, but definately the most accessible, and the best story.

Periods, dude. I'm no grammar nazi but I wish people would learn to at least punctuate their posts.

Right-O. Game above all others. I've said this a million times, so instead I'll just post a picture:

This...Yep haven't even played it. I spent my childhood watching my brothers watching it. And it's still revered the best Metriod Ever.

Banjo Kazooie - The first game I can clearly remember putting a lot of time into and eventually beating.

Timesplitters 2 - Whether or not it's true I regard this game as the game that turned me into a "hardcore" gamer.

The World Ends With You - My favourite game of all time and I doubt that's going to change any time soon.

Rush 2, I will never forget those opening credits, or the experience that followed it.

Halo CE came across it by accident in December of 2001 at my relatives place and didn't know about it, got me hooked on video games and I never looked back.

KOTOR 2, I thought it looked like a another generic crappy sequel, and it would have been if not for the way the story was woven together. It changed the way I thought about the world around me, the reasons people do the things that they do and action and it's consequences, intentional or not. The fact that it did so against my will, because i could not come up with a purely logical counterpoint without lying to myself about some of the more salient points Kreia brought up, made me understand how one might feel when they "fall" to the "darkside". Probably the most well thought out game I have ever played, good enough that I couldn't bring myself to care about being bothered with how unfinished it was. Funny too.

TimeSplitters 2.
Because it's the greatest shooter ever made, I'm pretty sure that's a scientifically proven fact.

Shenmue 2. No other game comes close.

...

Except Baldur's Gate 2. Or Final Fantasy IX. Or Civ 2. Or... goddammit. Too hard.

StarFox 64. First game I ever bought. Took me like 8(-ish?) years to beat, because I was a little sissy baby and afraid of dying.

Half-Life 1's graphics and sound are outdated, but that's the only thing that's outdated. The rest of it still works excellently and can stand up with the best of them.

By the way, since when has linearity been a bad thing?
I simply meant that in an era of games that tout free world roaming, the style of HL1's linearity can be viewed as outdated. I personally love the tight level designs that it offers, I was just making a generalized comment.

I probably have to go for Halo:Combat Evolved. We did have a ps1 but Halo was really the start of my gaming history. Although Worms was the first game I ever got. And more recently, Metro 2033, a hugely underrated game.

I have a couple, the first being Fallout 3. I still consider it my favourite game ever, even though I don't play it anymore. Had tons of fun on it when I used to play it, and it introduced me to a whole new genre of music as well.

I have also had tremendous amounts of fun in the past on both CoD4 and Halo 3. These were my good old days when everyone first started playing Xbox LIVE years ago. I still reminisce about all the times me and friends played on custom maps and games like Jenga on Halo, and Zombies on CoD4. (not nazi zombies a different game altogether).

Of course there are many other brilliant old games I have played, and loved. Lots of games have a special place in my heart, because I have spent my whole life gaming, these three games are the ones that stick out the most though.

WWE SmackDown! vs Raw 2006. The ultimate wrestling game in my opinion. It was the first one I bought, and I still play it to this day. Christian is the WWE Champion right now.
