Like it says on the tin, what game or game series do you think of yourself as an expert at?

Bear in mind, I'm NOT referring specifically to multiplayer games. You can just as easily be an expert at a single-player game. Do you know a whole hell of a lot about Final Fantasy? Do you know every Mario game inside and out? Have you caught 'em all?

I'm a bit of a Katamari expert, myself. I haven't played Beautiful Katamari or Me and My Katamari (due to me not having an Xbox, although I don't have an excuse for Me and My), but I've platinum trophy'd Katamari Forever, and I'm just really good at Katamari games in general.

Also, I've played Bioshock inside and out. I've platinum'd it, and I'm only missing ONE trophy for the DLC (and that's only because it's one of those annoying "finish in a certain amount of time" trophies, and I can't be assed to even bother trying it).

Fallout 3. I've played the hell out of that game and know so many secrets. I wouldn't call myself Expert though, because I'm always finding new secrets that I just missed in other playthroughs.

Um.

Probably Left 4 dead. 3 years of playing that game must made me at the very least "experienced"...probably.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert. But I've played Shadow of the Colossus enough times to the point I'm completely comfortable with the controls and I can beat all the colossi, even the more difficult ones like no. 9 with relative ease. I also beat the Normal Time Attack. I also played through the game enough times to reach the Secret Garden.

Granted, I have yet to find all the fruit and white tailed lizards, and I haven't even touched Hard Time Attack mode. Other than that though, I like to think I'm very good at Shadow of the Colossus.

I'm pretty fucking good at Dark Souls.
Well, I was. Tried again today after a few months hiatus, died against Taurus three times so that sucked. It'll come back to me though.

I'm quite alright at Dustforce if I do say so myself. That's not to say I'm really good at the game, it's moreso that everyone else is challenged by it. ^^

Bloodlines. I've played it...let's say a lot of times. I literally lost count. Also, I provide as much support I can for it, so I can also troubleshoot problems, as well. And also I'm into the setting and stuff. So yeah, I consider myself an "expert" in it, I suppose.

Heroes 3 - I've also played it a lot of times. Well, to be honest I haven't for a while, so I may be a bit rusty (right now I can't recall the Mighty Gorgon chance to kill based on stack size, for example) but I still remember most of the mechanics.

Ikaruga.

I've played that game so many times I can relatively consistently play through it on the hardest difficulty on a single life. If I knew all the enemy placements and bullet patterns any better, I could probably play it without looking at the screen, just from muscle memory.

Pokemon, I guess. I'm not nearly practiced or into the competative scene to claim to be an expert in competative multiplayer, but I'm pretty good at the singleplayer. Ditto with Fire Emblem.

Team Fortress 2. No means the best, but I am one of the best Snipers on the field in pub environments. I'm not a part of any competitive scenes, however.

In general I just have good game sense and good knowledge of how TF2 and its players work and act.

Probably either the Baldur's Gate series or one of the many strategy games I've dedicated countless hours of my life into conquering.

Well I know a lot of the theory behind League of Legends. Especially why you should always, always ward. Yes, even YOU. I know you AD Carry mains are all "oh I need the money for my third Bloodthirster" no. Even you. It's 75 gold that's literally 3 minions.

Solo Q isn't the best at following up on all the theory though. Enemy jungler sits top all game. Why is bot not taking dragon? Why isn't our jungler taking all his buffs forever? If I can do it surely others can put it together and i'm uber paranoid in my my own jungle, nevermind chilling in theirs. Seriously, you know how you do Blue, wolves, wraiths, Red a the start? Between wraiths and Red I walk over to my Red Buff to quickly check if it's being taken before going back to wraiths. Every single game. PARANOID.

Mid/bot disappears off the map for half a second = fuck they're coming for me, leave, leave, leave, leave now. I mained jungle in Season 2 when Shaco was permabanned and your worth as a jungler was determined by how quickly you could reduce the enemy jungler into a nervous wreck.

That shit scarred me for life yo'

I would like to say I know how BlazBlue's plot works but it loses me round about the time 5 plot words are shoved into one text box... I get the words on their own but once you put them in the same paragraph i'm freaking clueless.

I'd still like to know exactly how Mu-12 would destroy the world and all. I know she's ascended Noel but Noel was hardly super awesome in the first place but she's literally one half robot, near naked chick with an 8 bladed fold out sword. I'm really fuckin' scared now.

And if Noel is actually an artificial, man made human being, how did she end up perfectly adjusted in a highschool believing she's a normal person? She even had friends! Ah I guess Bolverk suppressed her memories or something... Yeah let's go with that. However did she even own Bolverk during those years? Ah fuck it.

I feel the same way about Pokemon. I've played at least one game from every generation so far, and I'm at least aware of the existence of the competitive scene, but I'd never REALLY consider myself an expert.

Also, when you said "Ditto with Fire Emblem", it took me a sold 10 seconds to realize that you were talking about the ACTUAL Fire Emblem. All I could think was "What the heck item is the Fire Emblem? And why would Ditto be holding it?".

Man, Ditto with a fire Emblem is all the rage in competitive these days. It makes it a great dragon & fire counter, giving it an instant slot on teams in need of a good sun team counter. :)

yeah, I get the feeling that an number of people of my generation associate ditto first or only with the pokemon. It didn't help that it was capitalized.

None, I am a jack of all trades and pretty average at everything. Also, I like to research the games I play so I don't miss anything important.

The only game I will say I am good at in full confidence is Battlefield 3. I can play every role quite well, especially assault and recon. If it's a TDM match on any map, I will usually go 50 and 20 with an AEK, MP7, and Dao by my side.

Now knowledge wise, I could discuss the lore of Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, and LoL for a couple hours at least. I could tell you how to beat every quest in both Oblivion and Skyrim without any aid.

Final Fantasy. Specifically IV, VIII, and XII. Spent a ridiculous amount of hours playing through those titles.

The closest thing I can call myself an "expert" in is Team Fortress 2. I'm nowhere near the best and I don't participate in any competitions, but I at least know enough to not be a hindrance to my team. The constant updates, patches, and new weapons sometimes throw me in a loop though when I discover one of my old strategies won't work anymore.
