I just thought I would put this post up asking people which game they have spent the most time on actually doing nothing

for me it would be fallout 3 as i have spent so much time aimlessly walking about doing absolutely nothing

second place is World of Warcraft(when i used to play it)

World of Warcraft. I was in a guild with tons of my friends, and sometimes, we'd just sit somewhere in a city and talk about random stuff, and keep dueling. Also, we'd spend hours dueling in some random secluded areas around the world.

Definitely GTA: San Andreas

I've spent so much time just doing the cycle; Use weapons cheat, get 6 star wanted, see how long I last without using the health cheat, die/get arrested, repeat

Grand Theft Auto 4. When I played it at my cousin's, I spent the first 2+ hours just driving. Not killing anyone, not shooting, not stealing, just driving.
I did the same thing. I just drove around the city, looking at things I thought were cool. Then I accidentally ran over 3 people and while fleeing the cops I hit a banzai tree and got arrested.

EVE Online. Mostly because it takes ages to get somewhere if it's on the other side of the cluster, and also due to the fact that mining basically consists of sitting in an asteroid belt, waiting for each three-minute cycle on your mining lasers to finish, and then hauling it back to a station when you're full (lather, rinse, repeat).

That's why when I'm mining I tend to do so with the game in window mode so I can browse the Escapist or TVTropes or some other site in the meanwhile.

Halo 3, sitting on the menus. I have the computer nearby, so I was on that, until I realised that the Xbox was still on.

Iron Realms MUDs. Particularly Imperian. Yeah, I got really addicted to that. And I can't for the life of me tell you what I was accomplishing, since so much of the gameplay comes down to pre-programming 'reflexes'. OO

Most of you won't have thought of it, but Fable 2's money earning mini-games are probably the largest waste of time ever.

The Last Remnant, there's a ridiculously big desert section where all you can do when you first visit it is cross it.

But it terms of being stood completely still in a game then I'd probably say Assassin's Creed, I fell asleep with it on and woke up about 8 hours later still in the same spot, good thing it was winter or I'd be out a 360 right now.

I can't think of any, I usually don't get stuck in games, and if I do, I just think like the game designers. Although I remember a friend had some really weird (but actually quite nice) game for PS2 called Musashi Samurai Legends, and he was in a temple at some point in the game, and he ahd been pissing about the temple for three days straight (gameplay time was 72 hours), and when he was showing me around, he handed me the controller to go pick some drinks, and I simply pressed X in front of a wall that turned out to be a door. And he wouldn't believe it.

Proves how much I win when I do believe I'm on fire

Mount and Blade.
Sometimes, I just wander looking for quests for a half hour without battle.

Then I have to go protect my stupid castle from a siege.

Gotta be Morrowind. I'd just wander around, find and do minor quests, and generally slaughter anyone I didn't like the look of. Being accosted by highwaymen was weird, though. What kind of cajones does it take for a short, slender fellow armed with a knife to take on a seven-foot lizard wearing glowing armor and wielding a spear that trails flames?
