What Game(s) Are You Excited For in the Second Half of 2014?

Shadow of Mordor is on the top of my list. Its based on the arkham combat style which i loved and frankly never got boring for me, I love LOTR and the lore surrounding it, and if the nemesis system does half of what they claim it does then it's gonna be a good game.
Beyond Earth and Pillars of Eternity are two others that are high up on my list.

The games that have my hype levels through the roof are Phantom Pain, Arkham Knight and Bloodborne but those won't see the light of day till 2015 unfortunately.

The games I'm looking forward to the most this fall season are probably Evil Within, Alien Isolation and AC Unity. I used to be way more excited about Evil Within but the apparent disappointing preview builds knocked it down a bit. I hope my skepsis will be proven wrong though as I hold Shinji Mikami in really high regard. Espescially with Resident Evil 4 being one of my favorite games of all time.

Alien Isolation looks really cool as well from what I've seen/read of the game so far. I espescially like that they took the first film for inspiration instead of the more action packed sequels, as it really shows in the game's ambiance and focus on survival.

But..the game on the top of my list for this year is probably AC Unity. I really liked the demo they showed and as the previous entry in the series unexpectedly became one of my favorite games of last year I doubt it will disappoint. Also the game looks downright gorgeous and I always love those historical settings.

Persona 4 Ultimax and Bayonetta 2 are easily my top 2 most looked forward to titles. Other than these two there is Guilty Gear Xrd and thats about it I think.

Nothing says hype like very fun and fast paced titles!

And MGSV... which is taking too long to come out. The taste I got from Ground Zeroes... I loved it, I want more damn it Kojima!

Dragon Age Inquisition, and only Dragon Age Inquisition.
Call me a sucker, but I am a big fan of the Dragon Age series. I have played Dragon Age: Origins over many, many times, and I am currently on my third playthough of the okay Dragon Age 2.

I only hope it lives up to the hype and trailers.
Especially if I can be a duel wielding warrior again. That was my passion in the first game. I look forward to that and many things, I have even pre-ordered and mostly paid off the Inquisitor's Edition for the PS4. Sure call me a sucker again, but this only proves I am a big fan of Dragon Age.

Maker have mercy on my wallet, for both this and the steam sale/Supanova (a convention) will kill it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the only I'm looking forward to. I loved Origins and thought 2 was OK. Inquisition seems to be great though there will only be one way to find out.

...I think that's all of them... So far, I only have "down payments" on Xillia 2, II.5, and Omega Ruby right now... The rest will be part of said "down payment" in due time... (especially Persona Q's Limited Edition version...)

Dragon Age for me as well. Also Destiny, Far Cry 4, Deep Down if it comes out this year and Binding of Isaac Rebirth. There's probably more but those are the ones that instantly spring to mind.

Dragon Age: Inquisition: Last chance I will grant Bioware, if they fuck it up hopefully there will be others to pick up the pieces. Certainly nothing I would preorder though.
Civ: Beyond Earth: Loved SMAC so I'm looking forward to this but also nothing I'd put blind faith into.

Kingdom Hearts II.5 is a big one for me as well, OP. Childhood and such. But really it's Far Cry 4, Sunset Overdrive, Destiny (the alpha was amazing. I can't imagine the beta.), Assassin's Creed Unity and The Evil Within. I need a good horror game, ya know?

Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Oddworld: New 'N Tasty, Valiant Hearts, Hyper Light Drifter and the final episode of The Wolf Among Us are all I'm really looking forward to. Sunset Overdrive looks pretty sweet as well but I don't have a Xbox One or any intention of buying one so I might as well not even care.

The Phantom Pain and the single player for Advanced Warfare. Maybe getting GTA on PS4 in the vain hopes that Heists will be released around the same time. Aside from that, nothing coming out this end of year has remotely piqued my interest. Far Cry 4 looks like an attempt to take everything that was good about 3 instead of just going entirely new, which is what 3 did. AssCreed looks as dull as the last four games have been, and I assume the present day story will once more be fucked up the arse like it has since AssCreed 2. Destiny looks like a better version of Borderlands, which means the gameplay will feel incredibly empty without playing with other people, which ca fuck right off.

I guess the next episodes of Walking Dead S2 and the last episode of Wolf Among Us, if those count since they are only episodes.

With the first half of 2014 almost over and a number of high profile releases on the horizon, I thought it would be a good time to ask this question. What games are you looking forward to that are coming in the latter half of this year?

For me the one I'm most eagerly anticipating is Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for the 3DS.


Since it's Atlus I was worried Europe/Australia wouldn't see it for years after the U.S and Japanese release. Thankfully that won't be the case, so I'm stoked!

Definitely hyped for this, and now that I have just learned that I don't have to wait a million years for it has gotten me even more excited!

I am also really looking forward to The Evil within hopefully it is a return to form for Shinji Mikami as I really haven't enjoyed any Resident Evil game after 4, and by the looks of it, it will be similar to Silent Hill, so I really hope this will be a good slice of survival horror. I guess time will tell.


It seems pretty promising anyway.

I am also eagerly anticipating Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom pain as I absolutely love the Metal Gear games, and I think the demo's for it look really good.
