The Road Warrior and Lord of the Rings have already been made.

The answer is absolutely none. The two genres don't mix well. No game property has ever been improved by a movie.
Because nobody ever really tried it seriously.
I would argue Silent Hill was a "serious" attempt, and it was a piece of crap that totally missed the point of the games.

The bottom line is that games don't translate well into movies. Movies can occasionally make good games (usually through inspiration rather than direct translation) because something is added in the transition, namely gameplay. A game-to-movie transition takes away gameplay, which is almost always a fundamental part of what made the game good.

I'm up for any game to be a movie so long as you have someone writing it that knows the games, directors that know the games, and actors who are willing to take the movie as seriously as they would any other acting job they had.

I know I wouldn't want to see a Zelda, Halo, or Final Fantasy movie come into existence though. And, yes, I know that the last one has already happened, I'm just willing to live in denial on that one.

EDIT: I would, however, love the idea of a Metroid movie and a Left 4 Dead movie if they did the latter in all CGI so we don't have a crappy twat actor trying to be Francis and looking nothing like him.

Super Mario Bros!
Silent Hill!
Resident Evil!
Double Dragon!
Street Fighter!
Alone in the Dark!
House of the Dead!

These would make great movies!

EDIT: ooh ooh I have more! What about Hitman? Max Payne? Postal? Resident Evil 2? Tomb Raider? Dead or Alive? Doom? Wing Commander? Bloodrayne? These would *all* make great movies!
Just giving you a heads up but all of these are films lol

I think a DMC film would be pretty awesome btw

I'd love to see a Dragon Age movie. 'Nuff said on that one.

On top of that, a Battlefield: Bad Company movie could be pretty cool. I can see it now; a Kelly's Heroes for the 21st century, with hard-edged fighting and a sharp sense of humour. It could do for war movies what Ocean's Eleven did for the heist genre (make of that comment what you will).

actually a modern warfare 2 movie might work well, i mean there is a protagonist(s) (soap, roach, price, etc.) and two bad guys makarov and SPOILER ALERT! sheperd. However there really couldn't be jumping from TF 141 to USMC all of the time. there would have to be two movies

Left for Dead, zombie apocalypse never gets old!

Maybe the Deus-Ex games? Most cyberpunk genre movies are utter shit. Actually a proper Cyberpunk (R Talsorian games) would be awesome with today's technology. As of right now, the most defining cyberpunk film is Blade Runner... that film is 28 years old!

All it would be is pure suspense and awesomeness

A borderlands, Crackdown, or Fable movie may work.

OH, Lostplanet would be an EPIC movie

Just not Mass Effect. It's a universe with MY Shepard and shaped my MY choices. I don't need some studio shoving their canon down my throat.

The sarcasm is strong with this one...
Still, I liked Silent Hill, Hitman and Doom.
I actually liked Resident Evil, Hitman, and Doom myself. But none of these are great or even good movies. I am told that there are a couple of good ones out there but I haven't seen one.

I really don't think that a movie can capture a video games story. You see video games are meant for hours of play and a movie is meant for like one hours worth of entertainment. In my opinion the two just can't work together. Besides nothing makes me more mad then people who make something that is actually good, make money off of it then decide to beat it to death until we say "No more!" So I say let video games be video games and movies be movies... Don't try to put them together please!

Crash Bandicoot, the old timey Naughty Dog stuff. Any crash game for the ps2 is not considered Crash in my book. RIP

...also Devil May Cry, the cutscenes for the fourth were amazing, I could watch a whole movie with that in it.

First of all, i would hope that those of you who mentioned Bioshock as a wanted potential adaptation to a movie, is aware that it is already in the works and has been for some time.

anyway...heres my list.

Zelda
Diablo universe
Fallout 2
revamp of mortal kombat (even though i still enjoy the first one)
Half-life/Portal
System Shock 2
Tetris (just kidding,hahaha.....or am i??)
Dante's Inferno
Chronomaster (really old adventure PC game for those who don't know)
The Dig (Another great old game that was actually produced by Spielberg and almost WAS a movie but was made into a game instead)

Hm... Max Payne would be a cool movie. Too bad no one made one yet. NO ONE!

Some games really would be a nice movie... but there are some complications, mostly in (with) the minds of the writers/producers. (These "small changes" which ruin everything) - For example Doom weren't really half-bad (there was not that much to destroy... but then: DAMN EVIL GENES? i want f****** demons)
Yeah... I'm just gonna assume that the one with Mark Wahlberg didn't happen either. They used Ludicrous, LUDICROUS as a police officer! I'd dismiss that one too.

Sadly, the only good video game movie so far was Mortal Kombat. Other than that, Street Fighter tried twice, Tomb Raider spent more money on Jolie's boobs than plot, and we can't even mention SMB without a wince and shudder.

The ones I love to see, TF2, Half Life (the entire damn thing), and Brutal Legend would make the best ones IMO.
