On my list right now are the following in no particular order:

Mass Effect 3
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Animal Crossing 3D
Paper Mario 3D
Whatever they're gonna call the new 3D Zelda they're working on
Lollipop Chainsaw
Persona 5
Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Dragon Age 3

And while it is probably a long shot, a localization of Monster Farm Online(aka Monster Rancher)

I saw a teaser for Phantasy Star Online 2 (Not to be confused with PSO Episodes I & II).

And I guess somebody over at the pso-world forums compiled a bunch of info.

I loved PSO Ep. I & II. But this? I squeed. I squeed so hard.
Can't get into the PSOs but I loved the originals on the sms & genesis.

I'm looking forward to Borderlands 2. My friends & I still play the original.
PSO was the first Phantasy Star game I've played, and it was my favorite game for the gamecube. I have the Phantasy Star collection on an emulator, but I haven't really gotten around to messing with it yet.

I enjoyed Borderlands, but I couldn't bring myself to start again after I maxed my level and beat the game. I never got any of the dlc though. Q.Q

Bioshock Infinite is looking pretty great.

I would say Mass Effect 3, but the game is finally starting to scare me off.
Robo-EDI? And the Prothean? Was that really necessary?

I was originally very optimistic about the game, but now I'm more cautiously pessimistic. So I won't be surprised if my pre-order results in money going down the drain. :(
Bioshock: Infinite also has me in a very excited state. As for Mass Effect 3, I'm waiting to see how that turns out, and if it's an extremely good game I'll finally complete the first game and buy the second, because I don't want to play through such a story-heavy series just for one good game (the second one, according to most).

I'm also very excited for Diablo III!

Hitman: Absolution, Dragon Age 3, GTA V and Assassin's Creed 3. If all of those come out this year, it will be the most games I've ever bought in one year.

This year is less exciting for me than last year. Last year had a ton of games that I was looking forward to.
This year it's only two games. Mass Effect 3, which will soon be released. So the only other which I'm looking forward to is Guild Wars 2.
These are the only two, except if GTA V will be released this year as well.

A bit of a dry year for me, I guess. Of course it's possible that there will be some releases which don't sound exciting to me now but could change post-release, after watching videos or hearing about them on the internet.

I only have two. Sonny 3 and Bioshock Infinite. Hopefully I'll have some money by the time Infinite comes out.

Me, I'm looking forward to 'Fortnite', it sounds like a nice little concept that Epic games are getting into. What can I say , I'm a sucker for a survival game. :3

http://fortnitegame.com/

What about all of you escapists?
Nice taste OP, I myself am looking forward to that too (a survival game with cartoony graphics about building bases out of whatever you can to survive hordes of possibly-not-quite-zombies? From Epic? Sign me up!).

As for what I'm looking for, while there are games I think will be good and I might consider purchasing when they're cheap and if they get good reviews (like...XCOM) the two titles I'm going to purchase without-a-doubt are Bioshock Infinite and Grand Theft Auto V. Oh yeah, and at this point I'm probably going to buy I Am Alive out of sheer loyalty to the project (I've had a poster for the game from a magazine up in my bedroom for the past few years on top of everything else).

But seriously, how freakin' good does the year ahead look for videogames?

If you're only going to play one of the old ones, make it 4; it's fucking epic. I played PSO on the Dreamcast and it was good but a little too formulaic compared to the originals. I think if the title Phantasy Star wasn't on it, I wouldn't have been disappointed. Y'know?
The cool thing about Borderlands is that it feels a little different with each of the characters. Also, I usually think dlc is a ripoff but the Borderlands dlc actually had a lot of content with each pack...especially Knoxx & Claptrap Rev. I know I paid $110 for it all in the end but it was actually worth it considering how much play my friends & I got out of it.

Games I will buy instantly as soon as they come out:

- Diablo 3
- Mass Effect 3 (for PS3 though... don't want to deal with Origin)
- Star Craft: HOTS
- Metal Gear Rising (or whatever they're calling it now)
- Half Life 2: Episode 3. Assuming it will ever be released.

Other stuff:

- Guild Wars 2. Played the original for a year or so. Got annoyed by the usual MMORPG annoyances... grinding, lame, boring quests that don't matter, searching forever to capture good elite skills, etc. Overall it looks like GW2 will correct a lot of this. So: Tentative excitement.
- Whatever Dragon Age sequel they release. I haven't played 2 yet, so when I get this depends largely on if I've played 2 at that point or not.
- FF XIII-2. I'm sure I'll get, play, and enjoy this eventually. But I have such a massive backlog at this point, I'm sure it'll be a while.
- Torchlight 2. Eventually.

It's been awhile since I've thought about it honestly, January is a big slow down after the holiday madness as far as releases go. I can manage a list but I know it will never be complete, always forget something.

In order of release dates, not importance:

NeverDead --1/30/2012--
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning --2/7/2012--
Mass Effect 3 --3/6/2012--
Inversion --3/27/2012--
Prototype 2 --4/24/2012--
Spec Ops: The Line --4/30/2012--
Max Payne 3 --5/15/2012--
Borderlands 2 --6/30/2012--
Bioshock Infinite --TBD--
Tomb Raider --TBD--
Hitman Absolution --TBD--
Metro: Last Light --TBD--
Far Cry 3 --TBD--
Dishonored --TBD--
XCOM --TBD--

In terms of my most highly anticipated games, gonna have to go with Guild Wars 2, Mass Effect 3 and Metro: Last Light.

Right about now, the big ones are Max Payne 3 (which no one seems excited about for some reason) and Mass Effect 3. I'm hyped for it, but I was also hyped for Mass Effect 2, and that sort of came to be kind of a let down for some reason. But I really wanna know how the story ends.

Also, Skyrim DLC. I'm curious on whether or not they're gonna go with a new world, or just pull a Knights of the Nine and add extra dungeons.

New Twisted Metal looks great, Tribes: Ascend looks great, Bioshock: Infinite looks fantastic, Gotham City Imposters looks great, Starhawk, and a uncountable number of indie games. Monaco as an example.

Though there are some great big titles lined up this year like ME3 and Bioshock Infinite, deep down my top spot goes to SSX. SSX 3 is one of my all time favorites and a game I dust off and play every once in a while to this day. The reboot actually looks really fun and faithful to the series, and I can't wait to play it with some friends into the night like in the good ol days.
