Everybody's bought at least one game that they thought they would like, but ended up hating, and never playing more than a few hours. This isn't about those games.
This is about the games you've played, wanted to complete, but for some reason never did. What are those games, and why haven't you beaten them? Too long? Got lost? Too hard?
I have a couple. The most recent is FFV on the GBA. The first time I played it, I got like 30 hours into it, but my save file was accidentally deleted. I played it again a second time, am now about 40-50 hours into it, but need the submarine to continue, and I just can't find it in the overworld. From time to time I boot up the game to try and find the submarine, but to no avail.
The other one that comes to mind is a very old game - Hook for the Sega Genesis. I always loved it, but back in the day I was too young and simply not good enough at games to beat it. I had some friends who lived next door to me who were older and better, and they actually beat it while I watched one day, so I know how it ends. Then a couple years ago I booted up the game again, played for hours and hours straight, taking advantage of this one level where you could get two extra lives, die, restart the level, and do it again to stock up lots of lives, but on the very last level right before the final boss (Captain Hook), the aging system froze, and all my hard work was lost. I don't think I could ever put myself through that again.
