What games do you always return to for nostalgic purposes?

I'd like to be able to replay FF9 again, I had a friend's copy of it for the longest time and ended up playing through it 3 times. It was and still is my favorite Final Fantasy that I've play and would probably keep replaying it. Other than that I replay the Half-Life series and even Portal on occasion when I need a fix of a solid game to keep me going.

I don't associate games with flavors but with smells. Sometimes if I smell something relating to Christmas I'll immediately think of Zelda, and want to play it.

However I currently don't own a PS2 or N64 so I have been unable to play many of my old favorites.

For me, the most notable ones are Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Freespace 2. Two sublime titles that never get old. Additionally, there's most of the older Command and Conquer games, Tachyon: The Fringe, Mechwarrior 4, Warzone 2100, and both Independence War games. Yes, I like predominantly space and sci-fi games, so sue me Maybe the reason these are my nostalgia bin is because games like these are so rarely made anymore (not counting the CnCs).

Doom 3.

I've played through it so many times, I know every spawn, every secret, every "scare" and yet I always find myself going back every few months.

This is exactly like me except with Resident Evil 4. But I don't care who you are, no matter how many times you play that game, those Regenerators will always give you the creeps!

Arcanum, Might and Magic series, Baldur's Gate series, Realms Of Arkania. There are so many old games I goof off with from time to time it would be too long a list to put up.

You me, and Shamus Young. I bought Arcanum three times, because it's awesome.

Morrowind for me. I seriously played that game every night for over a year.

Yup. I still have my 8 gig archive of textures and mods for it whenever I pull that game out.

Mega Drive Sonic games (including Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine), never get tired of that little blue bastard! =D

Ristar. I love the music and level designs so much!

Streets of Rage II. Oh the fun times of "hey you hit me! now I'm gonna hit you back!" "hey you hit me back twice, no fair!".

Mortal Kombat (the original). So simple, so fun. My 1st fighting game.

Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped. This game just reeks of pure epicness in every way.

Final Fantasy VIII. My 1st JRPG. Fun times...

Pokémon Blue. I spend/spent waaaay too much time on that game...

Warzone 2100. My 1st PC game and 1st RTS. I still have my old Win98 disc for it. =P
