As a kid I never got scared from videogame enemies. It didn't help that the scariest game I played at an early age was was some 2D survival shooter in which you had to fight your way through a monster infested house, and each time you died you got a horrible little animation of how the monster in question killed you. I never finished it, it was too damned hard, not too scary. But the creepiest, or at least most annoying one, was a green glob that jumped all over the place, clung to the ceiling all that. It instagibbed you when it got you, melting your face in the animation. I wasn't so much scared, just incredibly annoyed if one instagibbed me again.
The only enemy that freaked me out when I first saw it was this asshole when I was about 12:
That blood curtling scream. I didn't know what to expect when I first saw them. It looked all okay, and then WAM it opened those empty eyes and started screaming. *shudder* I played OoT after WW, and the ReDead in OoT were puppies compared to those horrible monsters.
