It's easier to assume that they'll all suck. If you're wrong and they're great, hooray! If you're right and they're bad, you at least get the comfort of knowing that you were right from the beginning.

It's just too much waiting, the pessimist in me is taking over.
Well at least when it's absolutely superb you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully none. I really want 2010 to be as good as 2008 if not better. But if I have to say one game it will probably be Dante's Inferno. They've spent so much time marketing the crap out of it. They even had to create fake controversy, and are trying to "shock" everyone by adding nudity and all... it's just bound to fail.

Even if all it does is feel like some slightly different huge DLC that'd be fine with me.

I think Bioshock2 will completely miss the point of why the first game was so captivating and turn it into a big gory shooteresque thing.
The first Bioshock was great because it came from the mind of Ken Levine, who is a genius. He has nothing to do with Bioshock 2, therefore I'm not holding my breath. What I've seen so far leads me to believe that they are missing the point. Quite a bit. Bioshock was about a man's dream undone by the very nature of the dream itself, Bioshock 2 appears to just be a generic shooter set in Rapture.

No-ones said Heavy Rain yet? That and MAG. Considering a PS3 is my main gaming platform and I was planning on buying both games I'm rather Skeptical now.
Yeah, Heavy Rain seems like it's standing on the fence. Especially with the controls, which I hear are 'clunky', it wouldn't be hard to screw up. And I've been playing the MAG beta- as long as they can keep the servers from disconnecting, and regularly add new content- and maybe restrict the amount of grenades flying everywhere- it'll be great.

All shall be consumed by the almighty torrent known as Star Wars: The Old Republic. Which is to say, compared to SWTOR, they will all fail. Though if I have to hope for a game to fail, I hope it is Dante's Inferno, just because EA hyped the shit out of it and it would be funny if it sucked.

I have this horrible pessimistic feeling that FFXIII will fall flat on its face ... I know, I doubt this feeling too, but I just cannot shake it ... well I can but it just becomes frothy and takes up more space, and everyone knows that volume is directly proportional to strength, and strength is directly proportional to how often you go to parties, which in turn is directly proportional to how many friends you have, which, in turn, is indicative of how much social influence you command, which, in turn, allows you to get more friends, which makes you more influential etc etc ad nauseum. The end result is that all trying to get rid of this feeling does is make it stronger, which in turn makes it more prevalent which makes it stronger which makes it more prevalent etc etc ad nauseum.

Except for story line. Making better-scripted, functionally identical sequels to other people's games is pretty much what Obsidian does. What's more, it's run by some of Fallout's old hands.
If It doesn't make improvements It'll still be brilliant.....just a bit annoying.

2010 could potentially be the best year for games ever but what games will fuck that up. Personally I think Mag could be one of those games. Its over ambitious, the open betas been dubbed shit although I couldn't call that yet cause I deleted it after waiting 15 FUCKING HOURS FOR IT TO REACH 80%. What games do you think will fuck it up?
wow your internet must suck. it took more like 30 min to download.
I meant the updates.....the 2gb of updates......IT ONLY LASTS 6 DAYS.

By this logic you think Mafia 2 will be terrible - should you suggest such a thing, I shall smite you down.

[small]Ahh, smite - its really not used enough these days, you know.[/small]

EDIT: I'm surprised a couple of people have mentioned SC: Conviction - I've seen almost nothing but high expectations from old fans of the series and genuine excitement. It's also made by Ubi Montreal who are:

a) Great developers

and

b) Responsible for SC1 and Chaos Theory (the best ones)

Since 1 and 3 are the best so far I feel physicists and mathematicians of all levels of merit will agree with me when I say that the 5th will be f*cking amazing as it is the 5th game, thereby continuing the unbreakable rule that has been set: every odd-numbered SC game must be brilliant.
lol

I am a mathematician and an aerospace engineer (at least by degree if not by profession) and I am skeptical that the new system will work. Many of the things they are bragging about I do not like and hope there are options to turn off such as the silhouette of your last seen location. I have faith that they will not botch it up or i shall be very sad. I bought a 360 for this game back when it was supposed to come out at holiday 2007 and have been waiting 2 years for this.
So you bought it for the original version they were doing, which was nothing like Splinter Cell at all, and now they've come closer to the originals you don't like it?

Huh?

They've said you can go through the entire game not killing anyone, and truly stealth-it-up if you choose. You can't turn last-known-position or mark & execute off though. Given their level of integration into the gameplay (should you choose to play that way), it would seem silly to have an 'off' button for them.

Like I said - with Splinter Cell it's always odd numbers.

Dark Void is looking a little iffy to me. Singularity, too. Army of Two never interested me, so I'm going to assume that will suck as well.
