it's a tie between Mass Effect and Okami, I've been through Mass Effect on two different profiles because I loved being able to create my own (female!) character to be the savior of the galaxy (it's a complex that I have...)

I loved Okami because it was stimulating and beautiful and I took my time to go through the entire game.

Super Metroid and Earthbound.

Go on, I dare you to ask me how much I have played through Super Metroid.

You will either laugh, be amazed, or cry.

For me, probably Jak 3. Before I got a PS3 I musta played that game a million times. Now, Call of Duty 4 has taken almost as much time. (not for much longer, picking up Fallout 3 this week.)

Oblivion. I rented it when it came out, got it as a Christmas present the next year, and haven't stopped playing since.

MMOs WoW, FFXI and Guild Wars combined i spent around 90 full days of my life on them, however I havnt played an mmo in ages so my addiction isnt too much of a problem atm :p

For non mmos it would definitely have to be my fighting games, i got really obsessed with the soul calibur, tekken and street fighter series, street fighter 4 is taking over my life right now :(

I've probably spent well over 200 hours playing the Elder Scrolls III Morrowind, over 75 playing Oblivion, and 100+ on Fallout 3. I predict that in the near future Borderlands will steal much of my young life

Ragnarok Online...5 years gone and counting. Hoping the new Final Fantasy MMO brings me out of it.

Warcraft 2 / Diablo 2 I played for a good 2 year stretch before quitting for new things (restarted Diablo 2 last month in anticipation of Diablo 3 coming out sometime this century). Final Fantasy 11 I've logged 801 days of playtime over 6 years, although I could probably knock off 50 days of that to AFK. Still ate a substantial amount of time.

The single player game that has taken the most of my time was probably Final Fantasy 12, at a lot of it wasn't even playing the game normally. I have a save at 220 hours playtime, and who know how many hours I spent killing that imp for the Danjuro that never dropped. I never saved during that time.

Starcraft. I played the single player through multiple times, I've spent weeks of time playing battle.net, and I still play LAN matches.

The jRPG's in my life, mostly.

1) Finalf Fantasy IX: somewhere between 450 and 550 hours, I figure... Playing it out multiple times and ever since my second playthrough, getting 100% within the game (apart from Excalibur II, having to play a game out in 12 hour simply takes the fun out of it). Every now and then (but not more than once a year) a go for another playthrough. Ah, nostalgia...

2) Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call: almost 300 hours I think... Trying to nab all 6 the endings you know. Two down, four to go. Luckily, the worst one (true demon ending) was the first one I did. Christ! The clock stood at 160 hours when I finally beat Lucifer's butt, had to do a lot of preperation there...

3) Probably one of the platformers I've played so vigorously over and over again: Either Crash Bandicoot II: Cortex Strikes Back, Spyro 2: Getaway From Glimmer, Ratchet & Clank 2 or Jak II: Renegade. Huh... Look at al the number 2's...

Everquest, the original one.

Right before it came out I had my heart broken by a cheating fiance, so I really needed to loose myself in something to deal with the pain. I got so into EQ that I ran two guilds in (2 different ones over the course of 2 years) and literally gave up 2 years of my life to it. I would get out of work every day, buy beer and food and go home and play till the wee hours, get up go to work and repeat. I would also normally play from Friday through Sunday without any sleep. I also took my 4 weeks of vacation, sick and personal days just to play. After playing it for a few months My roommate and I split a small fridge and Microwave to go in our gameroom so that we didn't have to leave for anything other than sleep and bathroom breaks.

Sad I know, but damn did I love that game (until a few people in it pissed me off enough to rage-quit). There was a reason we called it "evercrack".
