Call of Duty 3

I was a huge fan of Big Red One and Finest Hour, and while 3 was an ok shooter, it's horrible next to its predocessors

Halo: CE was made by the Assault on the Control Room, Two Betrayals, and Silent Cartographer levels. Halo 2 has no distinct, awesome levels of awesomeness that I want to replay - if I get it out I start blankly at the level list for a few minutes then play Delta Halo. Halo 3 I do not own but have completed twice, and it is saved by the Grav Hammer - otherwise it was just a good generic shooter with shiny weapons. Halo 2 and 3 lacked for me the awesome novelty that fighting for your survival on an ancient alien ring world beset by murderous religious fanatics hell bent on destroying the galaxy as a means of ascending to heaven that was in Halo 1. But now Halo 1 feels a bit clunky compared, with single wielding and really slowly regenerating shields. Gah, not only is the sequel inferior, it drags the original down with it!

Worms
Oh why did they have to ruin Worms?

Worms was an awesome game and the sequels that followed the 2D-legacy of it was the funniest and most awesome games ever.

When Worms 3D hit the shelves, it all went to hell from there.
Gah, team 17, what the fuck where you thinking?

Unreal was ruined by the Unreal Tournament series, which got itself ruined by UT3/UT2007/whatever it is. Now the whole thing is just a big sea of ruin(s).

(And those responsible for the ruining of the ruined have themselves been ruined.)

Mortal Kombat

I'd say this happened once the game wen 3D with Mortal Kombat 4. After 3-4 new sequels and serveral atrocious and terrible-spin off, not even John Tobias - one of the most notorious makers of the game wanted to stay in the wreckage the direction of the Mortal Kombat series where leading to. Oh and you just KNOW how bad MK vs DC Universe is going to be...
MK was the franchaise that threatened Street Fighter off the throne as the best fighters EVAR back in the days for christ sake.

Mega Man
After re-inventing Megaman thousands of years into the future as the character X a couple of good titles where released, but I definetly think that it was somewhere after Mega Man X3 that the game series started to go in a downward spiral of mediocrity. 10 years ago, Mega man was Capcoms answer to Mario. He was the shit. Nowdays, Capcom has milked that cow out of money so bad they're still trying to squeeze a few drops off the nipples off said cows decomposed corpse...

SEGA
Anything SEGA has touched in the past decade.
Period.

Speaking of Mega Man. Now I liked the Mega Man Zero series. I was disapointed with the follow up that "big fat spoiler" Zero dies. Of course he always dies. I was sad, because my emulator didn't work well and I coudn't heal with those buggy thingy. So I actually had to rely on skills. I had a challenge for a while.

Deus Ex

That game was fantastic. Why on God's green earth did they not 86 that sequel before it could bring down the franchise?

While I do agree that the Mega Man Zero games were re-inventive of the genre, I have to majorly disagree. The Mega Man Zero games were bullshit with their difficulty and unfair gameplay.
The game is just insane. One life? Game over after that? The bosses were hard as hell and Zero was a weak piece of shite compared to the bosses who had a life-meter that was 8 times longer than Zeros.
While I have to say that I did enjoy the first game of the series even though it had quite a lot of frustrating times I just couldn't be bothered with all the others.

I remember that in order to even make the game playable one has to raise up all the small CyberElves which require a bazillion crystals. This make me realize that this was the only Mega Man game that actually *REQUIRED* you to grind a lot so you could actually beat the game.

Personally, I played the games on my Nintendo DS Lite so no bugs nor glitches there.

The Ridge Racer franchise went down the toilet after Rage Racer in the arcade. Though maybe a casualty of the times.
