Platformers definitely. I guess that's what comes from growing up on Mario Bros and the like.
I'm blowing through SMG2 right now as a matter of fact. Would be done if work didn't get in the way I'm sure.

Probably FPS and RPG, I am pretty good at them. Though I could be really good at RTSs if I didn't have such a defensive mindset in every game except Total War.
This.

Most of you who mentioned RTS mentioned turtling, not being an RTS player, what is this?

I consider myself to be fairly well rounded, but the ones I tend to be best at are shooters and tactical RPGs á la Valkyria Chronicles.

Turtleing is a common phrase for an very defensive play style. In RTS games it pretty much means focusing on base building, defenses, and just amassing toops until you are ready for a big assault or you just let the enemy come to you and slowly wear them down.

So yea, turtleing is pretty much playing nothing but defense for a good portion of the match. It's like having your enemy constantly punching a wall or something, and eventually he's gonna get tired and you got the advantage.

I'm pretty good at FPS's. But I don't really excel at them. In fact, I bounce between genres so much I think I'm a jack of all trades and master of none...

FPS.

I enjoy RTS games much more though, just I get bored quick and I suck at them. I always turtle and steam roll.

FPS and Sports games, more specifically FIFA games on the PC. Which is ironic, because my two favourite genres are RTS and RPG and I suck at both of them.

I excel in turn based RPGs. There's usually a way of figuring out a power combo, to be successful early on.

RPGS... I'm just naturally good at them.

But like its really that hard. All you really need to do is spend hours killing stuff over and over again and you can destroy anything that's in your direction.

Probably FPS, as I'm one stealthy bastard.

I excel at RPGs but being in college I really don't have time to sink hour after hour into gameplay, I'm getting my RPG fix over the summer and i'll go back to FPSs once classes start.
