This, I was and still am an avid C&C fan, Red Alert 2 being my favorite of the series. Never really played Renegade but I point blank refused to play Generals for the longest time. But I was brought around to it by my friends and had quite a bit of fun playing LAN with it.

What did you think of C&C 3? Personally I was wary at first but I found it to be a fairly decent game. Not a scratch on the originals though.
Aside from the unabashed and shameless pro-US propaganda, Generals was a pretty good game.

and C&C3 was pretty nice as well. I hated it at first for getting rid of all the Sci-fi aspects from C&C (no Titans and Wolverines, seriously?) but i liked the story, and the twists. Heard 4 is garbage though. didn't bother trying it.

My first game was something on the Vic20, but the first game I remember is Manic Miner on the Atari.
I'd say I grew up with games like Frontier: Elite 2 and Doom. The latter years of my childhood would have included games like Crusader No Remorse and Baldur's Gate.

RTTs and RTSs. The first game I ever played was Command and Conquer: Red Alert. That game was, and still is, AWESOME.

I grew up mostly on platformers, as it was Donkey Kong Country on the SNES that was my first video game. Banjo Kazooie was my favorite platformer growing up. Then Pokemon came along when I was 7, and of course I thought it was the best thing ever and played the hell out of it.

Anything that was in the arcade or at the local dairy queen in 1982. when i was a kid i played galaga, gorf and zaxxon. then i got an atari 2600 for christmas. Even then i still blew all my money at the arcade.

Ehh...we'll skip the Atari, since there weren't really "genres" on that thing.

On the NES, most of the games I enjoyed were either platformers (Mario, etc.) or RPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, etc.)

Don't remember the true "first" game I ever played, could have been one of several for the Atari: Breakout, Combat, Pac-Man, some racing game I can't recall, Asteroids, Missle Command...take your pick.

I remember the very first game I played. Pong. Two sticks and a ball, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I grew up on beat'em'ups. My favourite was River City Ransom on the NES.

I played a lot of different genres as a kid. The first games I've played were side scrollers and FPS, but as soon as the PS1 came out I also loved RPGs.

I hated that game so much! My brother loved it and always wanted to play against me, and a 11 year old vs a 8 year old isn't even a challenge. He still made me play it anyways.
