What got you on the Escapist and why did you stay?

During the time I mostly hung out at the DoW2 forums I clicked on a link and ended up at the ZP for 'Alone in the Dark'... I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair.
The thing that made me stick around, though, were the forums. Too many interesting topics and people to just leave. ^^

Like everyone else I also got hooked on yhatzee but it isn't what made me join. I joined because my friend said it was awesome so I was all like 'totally sweet man I'll like totally check it out on the rebound' (I don't really talk like that I just get silly when I am tired, awake and everything between, below and above).

What kept me here was the interesting and fun topics I saw, I especially like open-discussion threads as long as they don't become targets for the banhammer and probation-pistol (I know it isn't called that but like I said ... pistol (jks)...like I said...silly.

Stumbled across ZP's Duke Nukem Forever review from a link somewhere, had not laughed so hard in weeks. From there i watched all of ZP then i was checking out the forums and felt the urge to join in. Serious the forums here are so well moderated and the community is willing to debate rather than have a shouting match.

EDIT: Almost forgot, the Unforgotten Realms i recently got into, the intro to the second episode will remain my favourite intro to anything ever for some time i imagine

Zero Punctuation got me on the site, after I found to find out the forum here was nice and didn't have swarms of moronic fanboys who're ready to throw down the gauntlet on anyone who's favorite system isn't the [Fintendo 180]. Actual discussions happen here and there's far far far less idiots going on flame wars.

I needed to find a different forum to the one I was joined with at the time if I wanted to discuss gaming with internet people, as it seemed to be filled with generally idiots. The worst I've seen on these forums so far is grammar nazis and generally pedantic people but it's still not a bad forum.

Hmm i came here trough the March madness contest, i'm one of the rares Turbine's (ex-)supporter that stayed and even though we took some flak i stayed because this is a very nice forum once the sparks stops flying.
