I was born on April 6th, 1994, which is the day after Kurt Cobain shot himself, but 2 days before they found the body. It is also the same day that the Rwandan Genocide began (cheery stuff). I also share a birthday with Raphael (the artist, not the turtle), Zach Braff (JD from Scrubs) and Frank Black (from the Pixies) and on april 6th 1917, America declared war on Germany.

Quite a lot of stuff really. It's also on Good Friday a lot.
Kinda ironic that Kurt Cobain shot himself on Frank Black's birthday considering he was a Pixies fan.

Nothing interesting happened on 21st October, the death penalty was abolished in Belgium.

EDIT: I share a birthday with a player that plays for the team I support, Kieran Richardson

On the exact day that i was born "1989 August 23 two million people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania stand on the Vilnius-Tallinn road, holding hands". Couldn't ask for a better welcoming to this world, haha.

By the way, happy birthday.

July 11th was the day that To Kill a Mockingbird was first published in 1960, interesting.

There also seems to be a whole lot of massacres taking place on this day, kind of unsettling. Maybe it's because a certain someone didn't get the presents he wanted....

Oh and Captain James Cook begins his third voyage, I admire him so that's nice.

Captcha: "Tickled Ivories"..... WTF?

According to google, the treaty of versailles was signed and world war 1 officially ended, despite the fact that hostilities had ceased for quite some time. Yay for official peace. Funny I didn't know that before, being a history major. Oh well...

My birthday is September 11.

2007 ? Russia tests the largest conventional weapon ever, the Father of all bombs.
2001 ? The September 11 attacks take place in the United States. Airplane hijackings result in the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City, damage to The Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the crashing of a passenger airliner near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
1997 ? NASA's Mars Global Surveyor reaches Mars.
1971 ? The Egyptian Constitution becomes official.

I also share a birthday with this guy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNk73MyBYKU&feature=related]

Sept 7th 1940 The Blitz ? Nazi Germany begins to rain bombs on London. This will be the first of 57 consecutive nights of bombing.

Sept 7th 1945 Japanese forces on Wake Island, which they had held since December of 1941, surrender to U.S. Marines.

Sept 7th 1978 While walking across Waterloo Bridge in London, Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov is assassinated by Bulgarian secret police agent Francesco Giullino by means of a ricin pellet fired from a specially-designed umbrella

Sept 7th 1979 The Chrysler Corporation asks the United States government for USD $1.5 billion to avoid bankruptcy.

Sept 7th 1996 American Hip-Hop star Tupac Shakur is fatally shot four times on the Las Vegas strip after leaving the Tyson-Seldon boxing match

I'm starting to think that my birthday is an ill omen.

I share my birthday with Phil Hartman and Kevin Sorbo. What more could anyone ask for? Dr. Seuss also died when I turned 6, but I guess you can't win them all.

1975 - The NBC sketch comedy/variety show Saturday Night Live debuts with George Carlin as the host and Andy Kaufman, Janis Ian and Billy Preston as guests.

I share a birthday with Claudia Black, who's awesome.
Oh and Napoleon! [sub]The rapper.[/sub]
No but seriously I do share the same birthday with that other Napoleon as well. [sub]Pierre Napoleon Bonaparte, nephew of Napoleon I of France[/sub]

Oh and apparently thousands have died in horrible disasters and battles on my birthday...

Well on my exact birth day Tajikstan gained independence from the Soviet Union.

if we are including that date each year:

-John Herschel takes the first glass plate photograph.
-California is admitted as the thirty-first U.S. state.
-U.S. National Broadcasting Company is formed.
- First actual case of a computer bug being found: a moth lodges in a relay of a Harvard Mark II computer at Harvard University.
-Kim Il-sung declares the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. (North Korea)
-The Palestine Liberation Organization officially recognizes Israel as a legitimate state.
-The debut of the Sony Playstation.

(picked a few of the best)

So yay, two nations were "created" on my birthday!
