When I was younger, Beyblade was the shit. I had loads of the toys, and the show was pretty damn awesome. The theme song was kick ass too.
But what's up with it now? I haven't seen the new show, but I heard it's bad, and the new toys look kinda crap.

Aaaah, I remember that show...
I was a little too old to keep my pride while watching it, so it was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.

I did love the toys though. I mean, the actual toys were hella expensive, so I just bought those cheap "Draco spins" things. I had one that kicked the ass of everything I threw at it. That is, until a friend of mine bought a couple of those miniature beyblades made out of metal...

As for what happened. It was a kids' thing. Kids don't have huge attention spans, and the stuff that's popular changes from year to year. It had its run.

It ended with g revolution

And I could never find anyone who bought beyblades cuz it wasnt as badass and flashy as it was in the anime.

And yeah the new one sucks.

Mostly the concept got old. Its lot like this who Bakugan thing. the concept got old,a nd once all thei mtations came out to compete, it just got lost in the fad.

Though I still my favorite beyblade. and i had the real ones, mostly cause we had good discount toy stores and knew people who worked in toy r' us that "misplaced" merchandise after it got off the truck.

I also had those lego things that were like them. Those were really awesome.

I catch an episode of the new show every now and again if i'm up at like 7 or 8a.m. and i usually am.
It's not super terrible, good for a laugh (or if you're lucky, 2!)

I had quite a lot of those things. I remember at my school beyblades were replaced by Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Actually, to my understanding the 5Ds show was pretty good.

the fad got old 6 months after its creation. Anime adaption of toys don't catch on.

unless its yugioh, then it gets ridiculously popular.

I never saw the end of V Force, and I swear G Revolution disappeared after a few episodes...

I need to go watch them and try to forget metal fusion. The characters in Metal Fusion can't evne seem to decide on the pronounciation of the main character's name.

I still like Beyblade I guess. Just not Metal Fusion. I certaintly don't play with the toys anymore because it's not a very varied experience.

Ninjas. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!

OT: It got revived from the dead and got turned into a terrible kids TV show. Also, you may have brought your nostalgia to the party. It's generally best if you leave the nostalgia at your parents' house.

I watched a bit of 5Ds and yeah it was pretty decent. It was surprisingly dark and gritty, too. Hell, that mark on the main characters face? That marks him as a criminal and even helps the police track him. There's even a few episodes that take place in the prison that he gets thrown in. While they do take the cards a little too seriously from time to time, there were a few times where they almost made fun of that concept.

The only problem I really had was:
If you can get past that, it's not bad.

Actually I kinda like the whole card games on motorcycles especially during the more important duels. Seeing them spinning out when taking damage, Speeding ahead when they were about to win, puling them pull a card out of their ass with the power of friendship and it actually felt more dangerous considering if they fall out they could get seriously injured. It was alot more fun than just seeing to guys just standing and falling down lol

It was never that good of a show. Neither was Yu-Gi-Oh.

One show was about spinning tops that "fight" each other to a Micheal Bay style camera shake. (Really???)

The other was about some dude who acquires a magical necklace that makes him go through puberty in a matter of seconds... It also makes him marginally better at cards. This is further compounded by the fact that the cartoon's portrayal of the card game is completely ridiculous and uncool. "Oh here's this magical card that is just the perfect card to fit this specific situation and win the game for me!"

It's still being played with little kids in the small Beyblade arenas as far as I can see from walmart merchandise. There is also still a show that comes on 7:00 A.M. Central/Standard every morning with it's loud/obnoxious intro.

I remember Beyblade. While the original season was out it was my favourite show.

I have no idea about anything after season 1.
