I think crash could have succeeded if it didnt get all gimiky. It was all okay for the first 2 or 3, but then he got an evil brother, then a go cart, then monsters, then he got glued to Cortex, and now I cant even recall the last thing they tried. At least when sonic releases crap, its so crappy that we remember it for how bad it was. -cough- -cough- Sonic Unleashed -cough-

Naughty Dog stopped working on it and thus he was worked to death in shitty ass games till he finally said "Fuck it" and retired and is now living in a small hut on some island kicking it with Spyro and Ratchet.
All the while laughing at Sonic who's working at burger king.
Then where is Jak these days?

I LOVED crash bandicoot...but then no one else did so they left. I don't even think Maddog productions is a round. Or w/e its name was.
No, everyone loved Crash, then Naughty Dog left, Crash Twinsanity came out and ever since they were generally shite. I didn't mind Crash Tag Team Racing or Crash the Wrath of Cortex but the others were just horrific.

Naughty Dog stopped working on the series, it was given to people who just wanted to milk the franchise without any real care over quality.
Though it seems the last one sucked so badly they finally decided to let Crash retire.

I picture him on a beach somewhere, sipping Martinis and chumming with Spyro, who also seems to have retired now, after the Legend of Spyro series.

The Crash Bandicoot series died after Naughty Dog stopped working on them. However I did think Crash Twinsanity was good fun.

The same applies to the Spyro games after Insomniac quit making them but again I liked Hero's Tail but it did lack a little bit.

Effectively the games died as soon as they left the PS1.

The PS2. As soon as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro went onto the PS2 they began their rapid descent to suck.

Crash Bandicoot 1-3 were the best games. After that, it started sloping into the mess it is today. The old Crash Bandicoots had such initiative and it holds that kind of "classic" difficulty to it. On boss battles you would have to try and find what their weakness is and their patterns and decide on how you'd execute your plan and defeat them, then they start using a new tactic when they're low on health and you need to do something new to finally defeat them. The levels were beautifully designed; I can still remember a few of the levels and I haven't played the games in years. The downfall was when Naughty Dog let it go. Don't expect the franchise to be renewed any time soon, though. Today, only games with cutting edge graphics and uber-advanced shooting mechanics are titled as being "good". Honestly, Crash Bandicoot with modern-day graphics would look awful with the kind of brilliant gameplay the originally games had.
