What happens when you die?

nothing happens you just cease to exist.

But what happens if we cease to exist? Has our life only been some miserable 70 years, just to die and never be reborn?

1. Everything carries on and 2. yes, but only if your life has been miserable; if you have had a fun 67 years and then die you'll still get nothing, but it would have been fun.

Fun fact, existence isn't about you or me or my neighbour Heather, it isn't about anything. It just is.

Safety blanket this acknowledgement is not, but it makes me more respectful of my life and that of others.

I never quite got that. I mean if you are so sin full and the devil is all evil and stuff wouldn't he welcome you? I mean you didn't follow the "good book" so you are one of his buds. it would be champers all round IMO.
We only have the "good book's" word for it. there is no other side to the argument.

Well, you say that now. If you would be living for an eternity, wouldn't you find something to do? I don't think everyone would be killing and blowing stuff up. I'd suggest making an utopia or something like that. Do things you would normally be afraid of doing now.

If boredom is the ultimate buzzkill, well, you do have an eternity to think it over. Come up with something exciting to do.

Besides, how would you kill your consciousness if you have no physical body to go through the motions of death again?

Unless you wanna experience reincarnation. Wait another lifetime, then, be back again.

well that's kinda my point. the bible says something similar that you will live in eternal bliss but if it is eternal you will get used to it and you will get bored. sure there may be lots to do but after several eons you will have done everything there is to be done. it's like with video games. after a while you will have finished it played the expansions done all the weirdness. maybe played online for a bit but after that you want something new because you know it through and through and it becomes boring.
Eternal life or consciousness though tempting is not something I would like. extended life with an option of death on demand now that I'd go for.

But, isn't that the nihilist way of thinking. Oh, what's the point? Oh right there isn't one, since, I'm just gonna get bored. Yeah, eternal peace may not be for everyone. That's why you have balance. So things don't tend to get trivial.
