Well obviously you have the kill cam to see how you died at many different angles
I hope this instant replay before respawning thing is what happens, but I don't really know- if you buy into that technology/cyborg stuff then the end point is nothing but pure consciousness. To say we go in the ground and rot is ignorant- centuries ago people thought the world was flat. Who's to say there aren't planes of existence that we can't yet perceive? If you believe that we already know all that there is to know then believe in the clockwork universe. I'm not sure what happens but I like the idea of enlightenment or reaching dimensions/planes of existence beyond the mere 4 we can understand.

I have no intention of dying, ever.

OT: Thats a question I think about a lot, I guess I'll find out eventually.

'What awaits us all in heaven is eternal bliss, divine rest, and $10,000 in cash.'

This was what our prophet has passed on to us. All hail him!

I reckon that it's nothing. No concept of anything. It just happens and you're gone, nothing to regret or anything.

But my concept of hell would be going out but still being able to think. No sound, no sight, no touch or anything. Your body shuts down and the only remaining thing would be conscience. That, my friends, would be hell.

What I usually tell people is to imagine what it was like for you before you were conceived.

I mean, I wish heaven exists, that'd be pretty damn nice, but I'm a pessimist.

EDIT: All why I want to be cryogenically frozen until I can be revived.

Ok Wootsman I edited my statement to fit with Escapist ideals incase I offend anyone.

Hello, I'm an atheist. This is because religion to me looks like twaddle. After contemplating the theory in depth, although common sense would tell me that there is no afterlife, because I cannot provide any evidence (because I'd have to die obviously) I cannot say for certain that there is no magic fairy land of happiness (there isn't IMO)

This is one that makes me question atheists, isn't it just the most depressing thought that after around 80 years of life you just become nothing more than a corpse in the ground? I understand all the arguments against Christianity or for that matter any other afterlife-related religion, but can you really go your whole life knowing NOTHING will become of your conscience/soul?

My personal belief is a heaven or hell, but I believe where you go is determined by the purity of your soul at the time of death.

There are a lot of people here who just think "oops, you're dead!" and then roll credits. Say it isn't so- surely some of you believe that humanity has some sort of endpoint other than extinction?

And I say heaven or hell because it is not my job to judge.

the truth is often bleak, example. one day everyone will die, the sun will go supernova, extinguishing this planet, it may not be sunshine and happiness, but it's true

Well technically we came into existence because before we were born we didn't exist, perhaps we aren't even 'living' now we are just a bunch of say data flowing through a computer, the data being our consciousness and the computer being our bodies, data can forever be lost(we die), duplicated and placed in a new computer(cloning) or moved to a new computer(placing our consciousness in another body, though that technology hasn't yet been invented).

I'm agnostic in every sense, don't know, don't care, but there is a possibility reincarnation doesn't exist(every lifeforms on Earth, nay, in all existence can be killed, so we wouldn't be able to reincarnate, making that theory obsolete). As much as believing in afterlife would be nice, I always try to take the rational thought, and consider even thinking about it except to share my thoughts with others such a waste of time, I never even think about it unless someone else mentions it, and guess what, 5 seconds after I enter 'post' I'll forget about it again.

don't think you have a good understanding of reincarnation, it doesn't mean someone is invulnerable, it means when you die, you are put in a new body, no memory of past lives, and what you become is based on deeds in your past life, and surprisingly enough, humans are low on the list of things you become, usually something that was bad in a past life becomes human

I think that you go somewhere-I think of it as Heavan, Valhalla, Skyland, whatever you wanna call it. I'm not one for reincarnation.
