People suck. On the whole, people are hateful, war-mongering, violence-loving, bigoted, uneducated, dogmatic, zealous, and arrogant fucks. At best. But one-on-one people are okay. Where a group of people may be as bad as anything on earth can get, individuals can only be as bad or better, and usually they're better- at least holding a door open for you sometimes.

Dogma is limiting. Intellectual self-identification is limiting. Identify yourself as a liberal or a conservative or a democrat or a republican or whatever and you suddenly have to think what they think and support your party/group/whatever. I don't call myself a liberal, I say that I lean liberal- I do have a few conservative sympathies. Not to sound like some sort of crazy person, but labels and such are confining in the long run on one's intellect.
