Damn. I think the decision "my sister" and I make in the end will depend on several factors. Whether or not we feel we can continue the relationship, what would happen if others outside the family were to find out we're related, among other. Also, if we have the child, should we tell them that their parents are actually brother and sister, or should we hide it from them, essentially lying to them?
Certainly not a decision that I could make easily.
Edit: So, I noticed that some people are basically saying that the child would have birth defects and whatnot. But, would that actually happen with just one instance of inbreeding? For example, with the scenario the OP laid out, would the child be born with genetic defects such as hemophilia or Down syndrome? I mean, I know that in the past inbreeding was common with royalty, to keep the bloodline pure. This led to future generations suffering from diseases such as hemophilia. But would that necessarily happen to the child, or would it instead happen to future generations if say the relationship were to continue?

I would be very confused and disgusted and would probably need to see a shrink for a number of years before I could ever look her in the eye again.
