haha so many day ones for me I lost count. recent were black ops and fallout new vegas and dead rising 2. I go through games like currency bro.
next one is dragon age 2.

I think the only thing I have ever got on day 1 is Reach, sadly. Though I plan on getting Black & White and Dragon Age 2 on day 1 when they come out...so close to each other. It will eat a huge hole in my (and my parents =D) wallet.

I honestly think the last thing I bought on release day was my PS3, and by extension, Resistance: Fall of Man (which I got a day before the console). I must have been one of about four people in Sweden to get it on launch.

Not much, but I got Halo 3 and my first 360 on the release date of Halo 3. It was the longest I have ever stood in line, and it was totally worth it.

Also, I was in line for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the midnight release. I was reading those books on the recomendation of my grandfather before they even got famous, there was no way I was going to miss that.

Pokemon: Soul Silver and Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 are the only things I've bought day 1.

Also, me, my mom, and her friend were all in line to get Harry Potter 5-7 at midnight. I never bought a copy though (just read my moms copy after she was done with it).

I was also supposed to get New Vegas at midnight but stupid GameStop clerk told me that I could pick it up at any store (which wasn't true), so I didn't end up getting it until a couple days after.

Mass Effect 2 PS3 and New Vegas (still regretting that one) are the only current-gen games I bought on day one so far, but that's mostly because I got my PS3 in September. I'll probably get a lot of (read: way too many) games on day one this year: Dragon Age 2, Deus Ex 3 (both come out on the same day?! Fuck!), Portal 2, Infamous 2, LA Noire, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3...
I know I won't be able to resist to any of them. Does anyone know where I get sell a kidney?

Got Tekken 6 on release day because of pre-order. Got to decide it sucked and to send it back even quicker.
Pre-ordered Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood too, but because HMV and Royal Mail are both run by chimps, we didn't get it until three days after it was released.

Have yet to do this but it will be inexorable with the releases of Portal 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Australia gets delayed game releases, and Singapore rarely even gets the games in the same month, so the only day one games I've got are Civ 5 and Starcraft 2.

For books though, I've woken up at around 5 am to wait in line for the release of the Harry Potter books 4 - 7.
