The only game I've ever bought in day 1 is Starcraft 2. If preordered games count, then Fallout New Vegas and Civilization V. Also, I have Brink preordered.

I do this quite a lot---if I think a company's good for it, I'll pre-order. All I ask is that the game not be TOO buggy on day one, but if it's patched up within a couple months or before the first price drop, I don't feel like I lost anything by buying version 1.0.

Guitar Hero: On Tour, the first DS game in the series.

That was actually a pretty damn decent game. The peripheral worked well, even if it made your hand cramp like crazy and was way too easy.

Last two WoW expansions. For Wrath I walked through the pouring rain in November to the mall. Skipping my 1st class, I was cold as hell. Than it took until 11pm... I think the next day to finish downloading. And at the time my Mac was brand new, just so much damn stuff to download.
Cat though my brother picked it up when he got his.

And upcoming will be Skyrim. Provided it don't blow up and I change my mind.

the gamestop launch party for reach was awesome, they had halo 3 available to play outside, we laughed and they where selling halo figures. I bought a elite minor figure to go along with my legendary edition statue.

The last thing I bought on day one was Call of Duty: Black Ops. I gave Treyarch another chance, but wasn't very impressed. Other than that, I can't recall the last thing I bought on day one was.
