Nothing particularly inspiring at mo. Every now and then my brain will wake up with a song it never really liked and go "You like this now! Why? Shut up! Don't worry about it! Now learn it, you incompetent fuckwit!"
So, it happened with this song recently;

The annoying thing is that although the tune is quite simple in design, the finger picking arrangement is ever so slightly off to what I have grown accustomed to during vocalising, so every time I begin to vocalise, the right hand subconsciously slips into different picking and it is incredibly bothersome.

Um, you guys? None of you have mentioned the two new Taylor Swift songs.

So you're doing music wrong, obvs.

Anyway that's what I've been listening to.

Huh, was going to say it seemed odd that nobody had mentioned them. Though, only heard LWYMMD so far. Catchy tune, not fussed on the video clip, and it'll probably date very fast. Do like the bit at the end with the 15 Taylors...who I am totally recruiting for my quirky henchperson team why I take my supervillainy more seriously.

Quite a bit, actually. They let us listen to music at work, so I've been going through my CD collection fairly quickly. Just last night I had Tommy Dorsey and Frank Sinatra, ELO, America, The Soviet Army Chorus and Band, Babymetal, and a collection of late 90s songs.

"Listening to"? You mean, not simply having it beamed right into our nerves by powerful LASERS? How positively archaic!

I'm currently beaming this:

There's, like, a Cretan and some Australian bloke I think. They play instruments.

Dunno, the second one sounds like a misassembled collection of stray hooks. LWYMMD is a lot better, a frank and brutal examination of the harrowing darkness of toxic femininity to rival "Legs" by PJ Harvey or "Sk8ter Boi" by Avril Lavigne.

Honestly I've never been a fan of Swifty, but these new songs are terrible even by her standards.

The Brand New album is rather fantastic. The only nitpick being the 2nd track, while not bad itself feels out of place in the album.

You're just saying that in the hope she mentions you in her next angry song.

...

Boo! Taylor Swift is over-rated, etc

Modest Mouse, RHCP and SOAD which are regular staples of mine.

But also super listening to Silversun Pickups. Love them. This song has been my focus (though I have been cycling through Pikul and their albums on repeat too):

Jesus, are youvgoing through a break up saelune? The only redeeming feature from that is the girls thunder bird.

Im mostly listening to Fleetwood Mac, Brand New and The Movielife.

The second and tenth tracks both sound like pretty explicit callbacks to their older work that wouldn't be out of place actually being on Deja Entendu to me, while the rest of the album seems kinda like a culmination of everything they've done on Deja, The Devil and God, and Daisy.

I like Stevie Nicks more than Fleetwood Mac. I am not explicitly familiar with Brand New, but I do know some of their stuff, and I do like stuff like them (the first song I looked up reminded me of Taking Back Sunday). Dont know the third one.

I like a vast range of music. Unless you only like pop, rap, or metal that is just yelling and no singing, we can find common musical grounds.

So I picked up the new Queens of the Stone Age album, cos it's new and I like to be "with it".

It has its moments, but it's no Songs for the Deaf. But then, what is?
