What have you wanted to do but never have?

The title says it all.

I've wanted to go mountain climbing, scuba diving, and sky diving. There aren't any mountains where I live and the other two cost way too much on my currently stretched income.

I want to cook a decent fettucini alfredo--and never managed to do so.

I want to publish a novel and become independently wealthy off of it.[footnote]Fame and fangirls would be nice, too![/footnote] Still working on that.

So what things have you wanted to do but you haven't done, my dear misanthropes Escapists?

I really want to learn how to make furniture. Not putting together Ikea stuff, but learning to build some really nice end tables or a shelving unit with some interesting lines and an unusual opening mechanism. I've never really woodworked anything in my life, but when I get my next apartment, I want to start over with stuff I built.

I'd like to learn that, too. Though, to go one step further, I'd also like to know how to build a house. I don't necessarily want to build my own house, but I'd like to know the correct process so I can make sure it is being done right.

I want to go to the World Cup. I remember living in Atlanta during the Olympics and finding it to be a giant pain to go about your daily life during the event, so I want to actually go to the World Cup, not have it come to me. Brazil isn't happening, so I might try to go to Russia. I'm kind of iffy about going to Qatar.

I want to stay a night in the Cinderella Dream Suite at Disney World. For those who don't know, that is a luxury hotel room that is INSIDE Cinderella Castle. You can't reserve the room, it is given out to guests at the parks randomly.

As of late I have had the strangest want and aching for exploring an old abandoned cathedral or church, preferably with a crypt and access to its higher levels. And a tower.

I really don't know why, just a strange compulsion to walk through an abandoned and large building. Hospitals or old mental houses are up there as well.

I guess I just want to go exploring something that preferably doesn't require a tour-guide, but instead recommends gloves and a tetnis shot.

As for what I've always wanted to do, was simply play in snow. Ever since I was a young boy, I wanted to just walk through deep snow and make snow balls and shit and behold the wonder of a winterland. However, where I live, it never snows. Even in winter, all we get is a thin layer of unpleasant frost in the morning.

Onto the less depressing wishes, I want to become a published author and be able to live off of it. Haven't really worked on any of my stories though due to a combination of depression, some writer's block, and the overwhelming feeling that I'm wasting my time and that I'll never achieve anything (that may be the same thing as the first reason).

Get a tatoo. Mountain climbing is really awesome, I'd definitely recommend it...it's really not as hard as it sounds unless you're doing a massive one like Kilimanjaro.

I'd also quite like to publish some scientific research, probably just computational biology sort of stuff. I don't know if I'll ever have time or the effort to find something worth doing though.
