When answering, please do not include drugs of any kind. This includes caffeine or prescription meds.

Example: What helps me go to sleep is the sound of rain. It comforts me knowing that I am warm and dry inside. Also, a hard days work or a few days of bad insomnia earlier will let be sleep pretty quickly.
Generally darkness helps me fall asleep, but I specifically fall asleep to music. My mother was a musician in a symphony orchestra in Toronto, so she brought me to her practices late at night, which had me falling asleep to a whole orchestra going full out. People say that I still fall asleep humming Bach

Nothin. Haven't had a good night sleep since... erm... yeah...
Try eating before ya go to bed. Can help.
Haven't tried that, but I've tried a ton of other things. I'm one of those people that has that very tiny window of time to fall asleep, and if I think, or hear something, I miss it and can't fall asleep for another few hours.

Def try food about 30 minutes before you plan on going to bed. Can help, has for me before. If not that then nyquil almost always works.

fantasizing about hot women. The dedication to the imagery helps me fall asleep because I'm not thinking about sleeping, I'm thinking about the fantasy. Maybe something about that might help.

A female to cuddle up to helps anyone sleep. I found that out the hard (lol pun?) way.

Other than that, staying up 'til you pass out is always a good one too.

The sound of a storm. I don't know why but it comforts me immensely. Listening to Santana's "Put your lights on" also helps.

Either some sort of non-lyrical music, or the Beatles, or staying up to 7am.

And last semester, math class.

Listening to music is what helps me sleep. For some reason I feel more inclined to close and keep my eyes closed when listening to music.

I cannot sleep, for justice cannot sleep. If I sleep, wrongs go unrighted, the guilty go unpunished. Society has cancer! There are four ways to deal with cancer; Cut it out, nuke it, poison it, and get experimental!
And now, I must go... For somewhere out there, there are wrongs to right, there are foes to fight, there are little chunks of corn in your teeth! *Disappears into the night to try and save the world*

a walk, a glass of OJ with the final smoke of the day, lay in bed for a few hours staring up at the ceiling, and somewhere in there it happens...

But you guys are right, the sound of rain is one of the most soothing sounds, and under a tin roof? Awesome.

I need white noise.

I don't care if it's a ceiling fan or an air purifier [small](yes, I have one of those. I know, loser, right?)[/small], I need a small sound.

Silence keeps me up at night. Weird. :p

A heavy weight of some kind on my shoulders and arms, usually blankets with a significant amount of weight to them, as well as white noise in the form of a fan or something constant without being loud.

Complete and total exhaustion, coupled with any soft surface known to this Earth.

Also, I need a fan during summer, or I'll never sleep.
