I usually have trouble sleeping, I can almost never immediately turn my brain to the "off" setting. So to get to sleep I used to read, but that stopped working, now it's usually a bourbon nightcap. Anyone else have trouble getting to sleep? If so, what helps you?

Music. TV works fine too. I now usuall go to bed with the Music Choice: Alternative channel on.

I need sound to focus on or I get lost in though. Dark, eratic, depressing thought.

Good "dancing" is supposed to make you tired. So if your're not tired afterwards, you're doing it wrong ;)

OT: Unless I'm really tired and pass out from exahustion then I usually need my TV on or a movie playing.

Sorta on topic check out my poll about how much you sleep from a couple months ago here:

Ya this guy knows what I'm talkin' about. It always feels so good to:
put on whale suit, wear PBJ sandwiches on your feat, and dance to Weird Al songs in front of a very confused cat.
I'm always so sweaty afterwards too :D

Reading used to work well, so did music, but now I'm on antidepressants and I have no problems anymore.

I read for about half an hour and by then if there's any chance of me actually falling asleep my right eye starts twitching and then I ditch the book and then yeah... fall asleep.

I'm much the same way, and it usually takes about 2-3 hrs for me to 'think' myself into a stupor.

There was a time when heavy metal got me to sleep. These days, the BBC World Service gets me tired most of the time(!)

This may sound corny but my boyfriend. When he's with me I'm out in a few minutes even if I'm not that tired. Alone it takes me FOREVER to get to sleep.
