Warm milk with honey. It's the gentle equivalent of someone whacking you in the head with the sledgehammer of sleep.

Music, reading a book or magazine, or talking to myself for no reason seems to help me.

If all else fails, there's still some good ol' Melatonin. Usually puts me out within half-an-hour or so if I can't get to sleep otherwise.

A few duels on Yu-Gi-Oh on my HTC has recently been what i've done before trying to sleep, I don't know if it's helping but that's what I do.

I think making sure you're really warm without being uncomfortable is helpful.

I usually listen to music on my ipod at a low level. It puts me right to sleep and I usually wake up in the morning tangled in my headphone cables.

Haven´t tried, but read that it should help:

Night-Milk, it´s milk which is milked at night, which contains
more melatonin.
It´s usually available in crystallized form.

Burning myself out playing sports beforehand worked for me last night. I got...6 whole hours of sleep!

Music. I can't remember the last time I've gotten to sleep easily of my own accord without some kind of music playing as I am going to sleep.
