What if Facebook Bought the Escapist?

I am completely sick of Facebook, I had an account now I cant be bothered to use it....its a shit big blackhole which sucks people lives in!

If you want your 'friends' from facebook then invite them IN HERE (DONT MERGE) but dont goddamnit make all of us be in there too -____-

if you saw how often facebook changed you'd have a better understanding. Also the last thing i want is an advert bar like on facebook on the escapist. *rage*

I don't see what problem it would be. Assuming facebook doesn't try that change-layout-every-two-months bullshit with The Escapist and lets the website function autonomously, Buffett-style, then it would only increase the potential expendable capital The Escapist could use. Besides, all it may do is make more Escapists become facebook users, but I doubt it would really work the other way around.

i love facebook, but seriously it should just be left for keeping in contact with friends not merging with everything in the world. if it did merge i wouldnt be happy, you would get too many people who know hardly anything about games joining and thinking they know everything, just like the zynga lot at the moment. terrible idea i think.

As long as Escapist remained the same, with the same people in charge with creative freedom and wouldn't force me to sign up for an awful Facebook account I wouldn't care. If suddenly they were making posts about how awesome the new farmville features are, I would only come back twice per week for ZP+ENN and LRR+Unskip.

Considering the drop in this site's overall quality that comes with the ever-increasing population (no offense guys), I'd probably sail for warmer shores.

I don't have anything against Facebook, in fact I love it (aside from groups). But if new members arrived at that great a force, I wouldn't be able to stand it for long.
