Take "Mad Dog" and "Scorpion" from the original Contra and put them into Halo...whichever really so long as it isn't the RTS. That could be interesting, I'd think.

My impossible dream is if Dante and Kratos were transported to each other's game. Imagine playing through God of War with all of Dante's crazy moves and weapons! Imagine the big finish kills Kratos would put on some of Devil May Cry's bosses!

I haven't actually played any Devil May Cry games (or, heck, any 'spectacle fighters' at all), but it looks like the sort of game/genre which would suit the cast of Touhou perfectly. And if it's game-breakage you're into, put them anywhere else. At all. Or just use Fantasy Heaven as Reimu's default super.
