Me I'd go for the relative safe bet by putting Samus or Megaman on the case. Both are experts in the one-vs-army field and Samus is covered in space armor from head to toe whereas Megaman is a robot so either they wont even notice him or if they do its not like they can infect him.
Heck for that matter put Link on the case, world infested with undead is...well Thursday for him.
If I could please have a Portal gun thing would be easy, just find a spot next to a really high structure, put one portal on the highest point possible and the other on the ground.
Make a lot of noise and watch the zombies fall through the portal and land on the ones below them.
Worst case you got a lot of splattered zombies and a dreadful mess to clean up, best case the falling zombies will make an endless falling wall of zombies until you shift the portal.
Hmm Pacman is also an old hand in gobbling up the undead, course not sure how well that would turn out, and the last thing I would want is an undead Pacman comming at me:
