I once saw a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie or tv show episode where the villain got control of a mutant plant that ate people or something like that. Combine that with the plants from Jumanji and I had this constant fear of seweres, damp brick walls, and swimming pools.

No jokes, my best friend in high school told me that when he was a kid he was dead afraid of snipers, so he would close curtains when he entered a room and stayed away from windows.

After watching that episode of Hey Arnold, I had a fear of train whistles. Every time I heard one I would hide under the covers.

That was such a great show...

The Goofy Movie.

The opening scene where Max transforms into his father used to terrify me when I was a kid.

Also I have severe insectophobia but only with certain bugs for some reason (Roaches, bad. Scorpions, OK.)

Mine would have to be a fear of zombies when I was 10-11. It was all thanks to resident evil.

I think someone killed him in mid sentence.

You killed me there =')

I don't think I really had any fears when I was young though. I guess I was afraid of the dark, like everyone kid.

Well due to a movie I should not have seen as a kid, I developed a very embarrassing fear. A fear I still have an dis so embarrassing I refuse to share it.

Though I did have another fear as a child. I always thought this weird doll in my cousin's basement would come alive and kill me.

I used to be scared of Ursula in the Little Mermaid. Especially that scene where she turns from Vanessa into her usual self and slides across the ship's deck to grab Ariel. Fucking scary shit, man.

When I first watched jaws every time after I went swimming even in a pool I was afraid a giant shark was going to come out of no where.

When I was around 8 or 9 I saw a special on Discovery channel about massive simultaneous volcanic explosions all over the world and how the lava could cover the surface 2 times higher than the empire state building.

they also said something like that hadnt happened since (date i dont remember) and was due to happen this century. (of course based on theory, not evidence or fact)

Despite it just being a theory, I seriously had a nervous breakdown right there and thought i was going to die THAT day because I would be covered in lava.

It was a terrible intense fear and didnt leave me for a week or more

I remember that when Signs came out i was scared shitless for months. I remember watching the part of the movie where the alien's hand come through the coal shoot and grabs the little boy. Well, I had a air thingy on my ceiling that I could see when I was laying in bed and I was scared of an alien hand coming through it and getting me so I would just lay there and stare at it so scared.

Rock-A-Doodle also scared me. Remember the part where the owls tear up the ceiling and grab the little animals and put them on the table to eat them? I always thought that was gonna happen while I was at my grandmother's house. Scared the crap out of me for a long time.
