What is it the admins on FPS games, do they despise good players?

Very recently I was banned from a server on TF2. The German Fight Club server (cp_orange_x3 24/7) I believe. I was banned because nearly everyone on the server was accusing me of using an aim bot (I was a sniper playing very well I admit, but I was not using a hack). This is really irritating though, a few players even spectated me and somehow still came to the conclusion I was using an aim bot even though I didn't hit every shot. After about half an hour total time on the server an admin must have joined and I was banned for life (With no reason from the admin). This stuff really gets to me.

I used to be an avid CSS player (Ok.. so I was addicted to it XD) and I was banned from a huge amount of servers on that game, I'm talking triple figures, with reasons usually being use of an aim bot or use of a wall hack. I have never used any such things in either game, or any game for that matter. The huge amount of bans from CSS are what forced me to quit the game and look elsewhere.

This is only the first time it has happened on TF2 and hopefully will be the only time but still, I want your opinions :)

What is it about admins and players accusing anyone better than them, or even in some cases luckier than them, of being hackers? Banning them aswell :(

What happens happens, regardless if it's skill or cheating, and some people stand for the resolutions of others as opposed to reason. What can you do.
There's always hundreds more of servers eager to have people play on them.

Take it as a compliment.
I know I would.

I doubt they really thought you were cheating, they were just intimidated/afraid of you. As the guy above me said, it's a complement. And if they did think you were cheating based only on you doing really good, they're dumbasses and not worth competing against anyway.

This is a case of the outspoken minority coming-off as the majority. Good admins are good admins because you barely even remember that they're admins. It's the assholes you always notice and assume are the majority because they'll make it a point to remind everyone that they're an admin, and boot anyone who frustrates them for "hacking".

I got booted from a CTF game on Halo PC 'cause I was using my teams tank to protect the flag instead of driving 5 mph towards the enemy base knowing it was invitable that I'd get naded or rocketed.

Is it wrong to use a tank to protect the flag or was that guy just a dick?

Many Admins are just regular joes, and sometimes they screw up by swinging the banhammer prematurely.

Try servers that have forums with ban/lift request boards, so that you have a recourse for getting other admins aware of you, if you're polite and concise you'll probably be playing again in no time. Maybe host a nice little video clip of your screen somewhere to refer people to if they think you're suspect.

Parking right on it, maybe...I dunno. If you were just lying in wait or patrolling, definatly not.

I didn't sit right on top of it, but after I got killed one of my team mates parked in on the flag and left it there.

Well not blaming the admins just the players...Few nights ago on Halo 3 (of which I suck) with two of my friends multi-screening, my friends were decimating the other team even while I put my controller down to go for a piss, I came back and they were kicked as they were winning 43 to 8 and they only killed me, so I lost out as did my friends just because somepeople are sore losers

Well I could advertise the eGO servers here (Mods if you wish me not to simply edit this first paragraph out, but it is a valid solution to his problem), we require either blatantly obvious hacking or a recorded video of the event to be reviewed by the higher-ups before banning someone. 7 TF2 Servers, 4 CS:S Servers, 7ish DoD servers at the moment. :D

I got hit a couple times in CS:S for suspected hacking when I play on other servers (run through a line of people with a TMP, throwing up tons of headshots), luckily I'm an engie/medic in TF2 so I don't think it's possible to be suspected for hacking there.

Maybe, they figure you're so good at the game, and love pwning noobs so much that you don't actually get any satisfaction out of playing, the only joy you get comes from winning, and to prevent you from doing so they kick you off, to let the other players have a good time.

I recently found out some of my friends do use aimbots (and pay for them! What a waste of money!) and find it hilarious to kill everyone while insisting to anyone who complains that they're not cheating.

There are griefers out there, and they need to be booted. Occasionally the admins get it wrong. Even so, if you're that much better than everyone else, maybe you shouldn't keep playing on that server anyway, since you're obviously ruining a lot of people's fun.

By the way, the OP is really annoying. If every word of it is true, it should be fair enough, but it's not. Especially the title of the thread - way more antagonistic than it needs to be. Cool the hubris, ok?

Your turret has an aimbot! The rockets are clearly all headshots!

I've been accused of maphacking a few times in DOTA, it's just ingrained instincts that kick in that you cant really consciously control- you see a blip on your radar for a second and pull back, or get a nasty feeling, and you escape a gank.

The best banned from a server story ever involves my buddies who played Fistful of Frags.
They got banned from every server plus the dev server for being too good. When they asked what the heck that was about, they devs actually told them that players that are too good ruin the game and they don't want them in their community unless they handicap themselves so that the noobs 'don't get frustrated and ragequit.'

I really didn't believe them until I read the FoF forum posts and promptly went cross-eyed in disbelief.

Find the Speacial Attack (or [SPA]) servers (assuming you are talking PC here). They always hear both sides of the argument and usually kick the assholes.

something similar to that happened to me recently as well, i was accused of using a aim bot in a different game by some (im guessing) 10 year old kid, when he started swearing at me over the headset i may have told him to "lodge a complaint when his balls drooped and was old enough to lodge a report". Anyway his mum lodged a report for him and i was band for abuse... sometimes its just not worth public servers, find one you like, stay there, even if its full, just w8 for a spot.

The thing is, EVERYONE knows about hacks - so when they see someone do a strange shot (which could have been pure luck or skill) the immediate reaction by that player is "hacks" - They then flame, more people then start to flame, admins ban you.

Oh and if you tend to get banned for nothing, most admins on Counter-Strike and TF2 these days are no older than 15 and have a God-Complex.
