Watch it, you'll be extremely skeptical through about half of it, but seriously, go on Youtube and search for the first episode, and watch it.
nailed my feelings exactly. through the first half i was like "this is really REALLY gay, i dont think i will watch anymore." and yet, it kept me interested enough to continue. and now, i really want to watch more but i have alot of homework, so i have to get back to it. the only thing that still bugs me about it is that it is definitely aimed at girls, and the younger crowd in general, and so for anything important the characters just outright state it (prime example right at the end there). bugs me. well that, and the names. i find it hard to not think "girly/homosexual" at the constant use of rainbow, princess, sparkles and such in naming of every goddamn thing.
but yeah, i think i will grow past the little irks. thanks escapist for wasting my valuable last minute homework time, and giving me a new guilty pleasure.
and also, i am not homophobic or sexist, in case i came off as that. i just am growing up with 2 brothers, one of which is a few years older than i, and so when my older brother got into the years where everything not incredibly masculine was gay (12-14 years old about), that word pops into my head all the time when i see things that appear feminine in nature. do not mean to offend. i harbor no ill will towards homosexuals, i just have some bad habits when it comes to vocabulary.
who am i to judge whether or not someone should be allowed to love another because they also have a penis, or breasts and a vagina (maybe both)? to each his own, for it is what we all want. and then there are a number of reasons as to why women in this society are more or less the same as men, but i really have very little time to go into that. so yeah, trying not to piss anyone off.
just realized as well. i probably could have and should have just left it at "good show, now i have something new to watch". but whatever. whats said is said, (or typed, but you get the point).
