Going Rogue: An American Life by Sarah Palin.

HA! To be honest, The Trial by Franz Kafka. It was so damn impactful

Alex Cross series. All of them. Just so good. Also Maximum Ride.

Well basically... just anything by James Patterson.
I too read Maximum Ride, all of them so far, I just found they went from awesome to melodrama, like the 2000 show "Dark Angel".

I have to say my favorite book and the best is The Hobbit. It defines everything I like about fantasy and truly was memorable.

Honorable mentions go to A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens. While it started off rather plain and in fact rather boring, the ending made up for it a hundred times over. And Jurassic Park by Crichton.

The Silmarillion by Tolkien. The only book that has made me cry.
I found it dull, and to have far too many characters. Far far far too many.

The Hobbit on the other hand...

Now that's a book.

But my favourites are the Hitchhiker's series - brilliant.

The Silmarillion by Tolkien. The chapter "of Beren and Luthien" had me balling my eyes out at the very end :)...

Book 1-6 and 11-12 of The Wheel of Time.

For school, I'd say... The Stranger by Albert Camus.

The best book I've read would probably be Dune, though honourable mentions would go to 1984, catch-22, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series, and the discworld series.

At the moment I would have to say both of the Perfect Dark books (Initial Vector and Second Front).

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Funniest book I've ever read.
The series is brilliant, if you haven't read "the salmon of doubt" do it!

Darren Shan's Vampire Series of books is brilliant, amazing plot. I also adore Max Brooks' World War Z and Zombie Survival Guide.

Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club

That book changed a lot about my whole outlook on life, and I'll never forget its role in shaping me into who I am today.

I love the Arthur trilogy of books by Kevin Crossely-Holland. Those books just appeal to the fantasy side of me. To Kill a Mockingbird is also an amazing book but the former is more fond to me.

I have to admit, contrary to some internet belief, that as a straight male, I too thought the book was fairly good and the rest of the series (apart from book 3 really). Mostly because the first film came out, I went to see it with some females. When it ended I felt like I still didnt know what was going on. Lo and behold I read the book and they skipped quite a few of the important parts.

I dont really like book 3 very much because I felt that it didnt really contribute much to the plot of bella and her love(s?) and more focusing on the whole vampire side of things.
Ah... this is awkward... I was joking, to see if anyone would actually read the list.

I've read the first book, and didn't particularly enjoy it. I didn't hate it, and it doesn't deserve the amount of scorn poured on it by the internet community, but I didn't like it, either. I certainly didn't start to feel the overpowering love for it experienced by a large number of teenage girls (although I'm led to believe by my stepsister that that's mostly due to "R-Patz" and Taylor Lautner being in the film. Apparently they're attractive. Pattinson, maybe, but Taylor Lautner just looks very, very angry, the whole time).

Maybe it's just a generational thing - we had Harry Potter, they have Twilight.

Anyway, apologies for derailing the thread, especially if this degenerates into the standard Twilight flame war
Lol np I was trying to get into the 'in' crowd by quoting and forcing discussion. wasnt quite what I was going for. No I didnt experience the overpowering hate or love of the book. it was average at best lol
