A half assed search indicates that so far there is no other thread like this, surprisingly. Anyway, I was in the kitchen making something for mothers day while listening to The Dillinger Escape Plan (yes, I cook and listen to math metal).

It dawned on me when I heard 'Sugar Coated Sour' live on 'Under The Running Board' I was blown away, again. Such intensity is rare and they turn it up to infinity (I'm allowed to imply it has a numerical value as TDEP made an album called Calculating Infinity, so from an artistic point of view I can do what I want) and to capture it like that is either someones good intuition or dumb luck. Let's not beat around the bush, most live recordings of a band are fairly mediocre, but occasionally some gems slip through.

Another fantastic live song is 'The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died' by none other than Queens of the Stone Age, greatest band in the universe. :p

Anyway I just wanted to know, what are your favourite live recordings? Songs specifically if possible.

Pennywise - Bro Hymn Live at the Key Club is a good one, especially if you've seen the video of it and how many people were on stage.

Radiohead's "Talk Show Host" is insane live.
The whole album "Old Wounds" is a mixed/mastered live recording, and a kickass one at that.
And the DVD "Jungle Rules" is perfect.

This live version of PAIN's "End of the Line": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcDrB97SYOY.

The studio version is great, but this just blows it away.

Dredg is a really fantastic band live. Opeth sounds pretty sweet too. Sevendust has fantastic energy, I don't really care for their music too much, but at their concerts they get me jumping.

'Hey Joe' live at Winterland in 68' by Jimi Hendrix. The start just blows you away!

Every live performance is amazing from Jimi Hendrix and he is still the greatest guitarist!

Dream Theater are great live, they can match their studio stuff almost perfectly.

However.. they are very boring to watch...

Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Part 1, from Pink Floyd's "Pulse" DVD. It's hard to even determine if this song is live, it's pulled off so flawlessly, and Gilmour's voice works SO much better.
