Kingdom Hearts 2, one of the only ones I still play every now and again.
Dragon Quest was okay too... not sure which one it was, one with the little king that looked like Yoda.

Didn't see myself in this thread but I know I've answered this before...

Best JRPG = Shining in the Darkness (Genesis)
Best WRPG = Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant (PC)

Most Fun RPG = Planescape: Torment (PC)

Jesus, what a question. Chrono Trigger? Golden Sun? Fallout? Pokémon? KoTOR? Way too many choices, and this is only the top of the iceberg..

Summoner and Dark Cloud

Hmmm...tough call. I like so many different RPGs for different reasons. Loved the combat in Grandia 2, love the weirdness of Persona 4, love the scope of Oblivion, love the story of KOTOR.

But then there's Illusion of Gaia, Arx Fatalis, Dark Cloud 2, Neverwinter Nights, Lost Odyssey, Koudelka (and several subsequent Shadow Hearts games)...the list goes on and on.
Is Dark Cloud 2 like the original? I looked on wikipedia and it looked all animé...y.
Can't say, as I never played the first one. But the cel-shaded graphics do certainly have an anime feel, but the gameplay is still fantastic.

...and Golden Sun on the GBA are all great.
Goddamn it. Beaten to it. I fucking love these games. I'm replaying them now. I never actually bought them...my cousin had both. Damn they're so...addictive. I played until like, 5 am with school the next day last week.

Silly me.
It's the only GB game that has kept me up till stupid am.

Planescape: Torment because it's brilliant, followed by Bloodlines, which was the most atmospheric game I've ever played. Also, huge thanks to everyone who has or will post on this thread, I'm getting a great list of games to try after I finally beat Pathologic. :3

JRPG - Has to be Final Fantasy VIII - The battle system is just immense! So much customization to be had with the draw system.

WRPG - Fable II - Not a popular choice but I loved it! Hilarity, action, plenty of sidequests. Great fun.

KotOR 1 takes it for me. KotOR 2 was cool ,but it just didnt have the same effect on me as the first one.

Mass Effect, followed closely by Jade Empire and Fallout 3.

I'm going to get around to some older RPGs soon, though.

You want me to choose just one!? Are you nuts? I can't choose between the awesomeness that is GoldenSun, KotOR, Fallout 2, and Final Fantasy 6! No, I refuse to! They're all just too damn great to choose just one.

A couple of the Final Fantasies just because I love most of their stories and gameplay. On one, I had a total a little below 300 days of gameplay. I'm not talking about how many days I've played it but the total game time. Sure other rpgs had a lot more things to customize, but they never drew me in like the FFs.

Number one with a bullet
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarnia of Time. I STILL remember the summer holiday (6 weeks here in aus) that I spent playing that. It was towards the end of high school. I did everything possible in that game.

Coming in at number 2 is
Oblivion. The only game you may ever need. I really get into the character when I play games, and thats what this game was made for. You choose how to interact with people, and no matter what you choose. You can do it.

Also damn good:
Fallout 3
KOTOR
