Ocarina of Time by a long shot. It didn't have a deep story and many playable characters like Majoras Mask but the design is amazing, especially within the temples were many awsome puzzles and other challenges lie. OoT is basically the usual Zelda formula at perfection.

It also gets bonus points from me since it had the best catchy songs and the most likable characters even though they are glued to the floor.

i can't shoose between OOT, Twilight Princess and Links' Awakening, though at a push i'd probably go for Links' Awakening. It was the first game i had on my Gameboy, along with "Battlezone 'n' Super Breakout!"

Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time were probably the pinnacle, though Link to the Past deserves mention too. Ocarina's breaking flaw for me was the requirement of an item that can be hard for casual players to find. Twilight meanwhile had problems if you went with Wiimote, but that's to be expected. Link to the Past meanwhile has the awkward top-down view and again typical gamers might have a hard time figuring out how to beat the final boss.

Wand of Gamelon.

...okay, okay, a three-way tie between Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker.
you came reeeeal close to royal beating with the wand of Gamelon remark..my god.

Lol. besides the best one is Link: The faces of evil.

I'm just not cut out for trolling. ^^;

And it helps that I've been playing Majora's Mask recently.

I'm gonna be different from everyone else and say Majora's Mask because it's so different from the other games. And there's so much to do.

And the fact that you can blow Sakon (the prancing thief) to smitherines in the most brutal Nintendo death I have ever seen places it right on the top. It just goes "boom" and he's GONE. Deeeeeaaaad.

Also, why hasn't anyone mentioned A Link to the Past? It's awesome, dammit.

Thus, the top 3 for me, is as follows:

1 - Majora's Mask; For trying something different. The shapeshifting masks? Awesome.
2 - OoT- Master Quest; For being hard, unlike all other (woopsie, didn't think about Link's Adventure, but shaddap) Zelda games.
3 - A Link to the Past; Because I love it. I can't explain it, I just do. The fact that OoT is too easy pushes it down from 3rd place.

Wind Waker would probably be better than OoT if it had more dungeons, or at least on the same tier. But OoT is the best for me definitely.

Honourable mentions go to Majora's Mask for innovation.

TP
MM
OoT
WW

OoT set the benchmark, while MM and TP added to it to increase the quality, repeat the experience, as well as add new elements (be a Goron, Zora etc), while omg SKY TEMPLE IN TP

WW is still awesome tho, its hard to really say which one was best.

Where the heck can you do that?! I've been wanting to kill that SOB ever since my first time through the Anju/Kafei sidequest!

Depends on if we're talking 2D or 3D, if 3D Twilight Princess is basically Ocarina of Time without the bad graphics, collection quests, and other annoying stuff. If 2D, it's Link to the Past.

Actually, wait, it's Link to the Past. Zelda is always better in 2D.

For me, either Link to the Past or OoT. Hell, I still use OoT as the standard for what adventure games should be.

When he steals the bombs from the old lady in the bombshop.

My friend was playing "Blast Mask Man" (because everyone knows actual bombs are for pussies - real men blow their faces up!) and decided to jump in to stop him with a kaboom of justice. Just... Sakon disappeared never to be seen again. We both died laughing, though. Most hilarious thing I've ever seen.

I'm pretty sure you can reach the same result by hitting the bag with the hookshot or an arrow, too.

Top down perspective.. awkward?

Maybe if you're a little kid and didn't grow up on the things..

Personally I think the wiimote controls of TP are pretty intuitive.. swing the remote in any direction, it swings the sword.. have a bow drawn? Point at the screen where you want to shoot and shoot, shield bash by thrusting the nunchuck forward.. the only somewhat awkward move is the spin attack which you do by shaking the nunchuck side to side a few times, sometimes it takes longer to register than others.

I grew up on console controllers with D pads, and joysticks, and I still find the Wiimote to be a better control input.

A Link to the Past, The Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess. I guess it just depends on my mood, and I really do love all Zelda games..

well, i have to go with majora´s, because it had a deeper plot and was the sequel of oot, also, they tried to do things a little bit different and not having a "ganon" or simile was good

he wasn´t trying to rule the world, he was trying to destroy it!!
