"I only eat meat on special occasions. I'm still a vegetarian." Fuck off.
"I'm a vegetarian, but chicken or fish is still good."

The biggest ones would be:

- "That's an interesting argument, I'll have a think about it and get back to you later." They rarely do and their beliefs go unchallenged because they ignore anything genuinely threatening. Sure, it's more honest and less annoying to admit you don't know instead of grasping at shoddy logic to prove your case, but it's still a huge cop-out.

- "It's my opinion and I have a right to that opinion even if it's prejudiced BS I can't justify. Waahhhhhh stop disrespecting my opinion."

- "You just have to believe. It's faith."

- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_fallacies Not that I'm immune to them but it certainly helps that I'm aware of their existence.

Rargh. So annoying.

Game Dogs. I sure they had their reasons to cancel it but they could of end it in a high note.

I think "because I said so" is a huge cop-out. I can understand it's use on little kids who constantly say "why" but other then that it's basically telling who you're talking to"I can't think of a legitimate reason to back up my argument or command."
That and the old: "I don't think you're responsible/mature enough."

I can understand if it's used on somebody who's actually immature or responsible, but my parents have this bad habit of telling me I'm very responsible and mature and then turning around and using the above mentioned line on me.

It's some BS methinks.

Stephen King's "Under the Dome," was ruined for me when I read that ALIENS caused the dome to go over the city. That's just a cheap way of explaining unnatural circumstances!

The conclusion of Doomsday Arcade was a pretty big offender on this one.
Its sort of fair enough though. There was no way they could have ended it without pissing off a good few people, so doing that was kind of a cheeky way of pissing every off.

Edit: Found it, forward to about 3:00 and you'll be around the right area... Or watch the lot and laugh your arse off.

What does that have to do with believing in a god?

It's about getting presents from a flying fat dude.

"I'm not a homophobe and/or racist, I'm scared of homosexual and/or black people! Stop making fun of my perfectly legitimate phobia!"

I've heard this one so many times across the internet it's a wonder it's not used as a plot line on a soap opera more often. =|

Waaaaahhhhhhhhh piracy is killing us. We can only afford two learjets for each executive this year. How are we supposed to operate under these conditions?! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! WE'RE GONNA PUT OUR GAME ON THE 360 ONLY, DESPITE IT BEING EASY TO PIRATE ON THAT TOO!

Shut the fuck up. Piracy isn't hurting you in the least. Your profits from just this week are more than I'll ever gross in my lifetime and your games are selling in the millions. You have nothing to cry about. Now make something good, you lazy fucks.
You do realize that if you buy a $60 game only a small percentage of that will go to the game developer. And that it is in fact the publishers who make off with the greater majority of the profits to cover for the (on average) 18-28 million dollar advance they gave the developer so they could develop the game in the first place (very few developers can afford development costs out of their own pocket). Retailers, manufacturers and distributors also want their share of the profits. And last in line is the developer, who can get whatever is left of the profits after everyone else got their part. Providing the game was actually profitable, which only about 20% of games do.

And are you aware that the people working at game developers aren't exactly living it up? That they work long, hard hours for significantly lower wages than they could get in other sectors, all while their publisher is laying on the pressure for the game to be ready for a holiday release?

There are some exceptions to this rule, like Blizzard or Valve (who can pretty much do whatever they want), but they are just that: exceptions. This is the reality for the greater majority of game developers. And while the effects of piracy may be overstated, I don't think it is unreasonable for game developers to complain about it, since they are the party most likely to be affected by it.

I suppose I should pst something on topic, so:

"Because it is God's will", "Allah demands it", and numerous other variations.
