Ok, why is everybody saying "You don't like Skyrim" or "You think it's going to be a bad game."

The TC didn't say that, in fact they even said "Not saying that it will be a bad game." They simply asked for some examples of what people think is going to make this a good game.

It's not a reason to bite the dudes head off, everybody.
thank you i'm not saying it will be a bad just because some one doesn't like it
Oh really? Well OK then, let me just put this line from the OP right here.

because it looking very bad to me right now mainly because why people are so praising of it 3 months before it comes out.
He said right there that it's looking bad because everyone is praising it.

Dunno. Morrowing was borring, Oblivion was even more borring.

No character development, no bond with youre character whatsoever, dull NPCs voiced by 2 voice actors, no choice given in any quests (just talk to him, and cyu. Don't have the option to do something else, ally with that char, etc.).

And yes, I'm an RPG fan. Didn't find anything interesting in the game apart from the large map.

why do mgs fans look forward to a new mgs game? why do halo fans look forward to a new halo game? people like what the series has done so far and want more.

also, you can dual wield 2 shields. thats automatic win

OK i'm doing this what is with almost everyone liking Skyrim but i just don't get it. Not saying that it will be a bad game but really can some one give me a reason why it will be so good?

And no the reason "Because it's Skyrim" or "Because it's an Elder Scrolls game" will not count i want a real reason to buy this game because it looking very bad to me right now mainly because why people are so praising of it 3 months before it comes out.
Because everything they have released about the game looks really really good? that's my reason. Did you like any of the previous games? Maybe it's just not really the game series for you, if skyrim doesn't look awesome to you, that's pretty much all I can figure. Honestly, I'm also really really excited about radiant story.

have you seen ANY of the trailers or demos? It looks amazing! Sure Bethesda may have streamlined it a bit, but I just see that as trimming the fat. In Bethesda We Trust!

Because I love Oblivion and this is looking like everything Oblivion was and much, much more.

That and, well, just look at it! Jesus, it looks incredible. Anyone with even the slightest inclination toward WRPGSs should be at least looking forward to it.
yes but you some thing different not just the same?
Seriously...what the fuck?

English may not be your first language, but at least make some sort of sense.
i'm aussie so let me say it again
yes but don't you want some ting different not just the same game but it looks better and has new stuff
It is different. Are you even reading any of the logical responses, or is your intent to make you look like an idiot?

First off, it's in a whole new Region of the Elder Scrolls world, with an entirely new story.

Second, they have completely changed the skill system in this game, it may play the same, but the way you earn experience and level up is completely different.

How the fuck is it the same to older games? Then again, you haven't even played the older games.
so it's a new world to live in, a new story to be a part of and a new skill system
this will cause one of two things
1 i will be the same game just with a new coat of paint and a different way to play it
2 older fans will hate the "new" skill system and the game won't be good
Do you know what a false dichotomy is?
Because I don't think you do.

Because everything from the teaser trailer to actually gameplay footage makes it look freaking awesome.
Its going to be a huge rpg with loads of quest storylines and content, not to mention highly moddable... like oblivion/morrowind only with a better character/npc levelling system, better graphics and nicer overall design on the playable races and more interesting combat.

What's not to like?

because morrowind was great and oblivion was better

fallout 3 was great and new vegas was better (not discounting the bugs, admittedly)

everything so far looks great... a little dumbed down but only in areas that were annoying (sometimes i feel like using an axe, ok?)

who knows, might suck, won't find out until it comes out

Here's a question for the OP:

Do you like Call of Duty? If so, can you tell me what new changes the sequels have brought?

Because if it follows the tradition of any of Bethesda's other RPGs, it will be an huge open-world RPG with hundreds of hours of gameplay, hundreds of quests, an immersive and epic plot, stunning graphics and the most important thing of all: the ability to play the way YOU choose: Do the main quest, join a faction, do quests for NPCs or wander the wilderness seeking adventure. Maybe that cave over there will hold great treasure. Maybe that Dwemer Ruin will hold clues to that long dead race.
The deal with Skyrim is that it promises to be an epic game.

Go to youtube and look up the roughly fourteen minute live demo (G4 has a bigger one than GameTrailers). It's narrated by Todd Howard and I think the game is good enough to ship. They either like the whole thing with 11.11.11, or they're just spending some time getting the house in order.

It's really something you have to see.

Because it's an Elder Scrolls game. Yeah, I'm actually going with that.
The last in the series, Oblivion has a massive fanbase and the most extreme Oblivion fans are the most extreme fans ever. They have played the game for thousands of hours (not exaggerating). They want to explore every part of the game in every way they can. What if they didn't turn that rock in the start? What if they broke granny Riddleton's window instead of helping her save her husband? So there's just a million things they have tested in Oblivion, and even those who aren't that extreme still loves the game. They want to find a different way to burn off maybe 100 hours on. Many thinks that Skyrim is worth it if it's even half as good as Oblivion. Even if this game turns out to suck (which it probably wont) it will still sell well because it's a franchise known for the great game from 2006.
Sure things wont be the same, no mods, more streamlined etc. In simple terms lots of complaints that rabid fans will still shout out. However most of those complaining fans probably readied their wallets when they first heard that there was a new Elder Scrolls game coming.
If Skyrim wasn't an Elder Scrolls game it would take some serious marketing to make it this anticipated. It would still look as good, have the same qualifications so it would draw a huge audience with time. It is a fantasy RPG in a huge world you get to explore to the fullest so yeah, it serves people what they want.
I am not interested in this game though, but I can see already now that this will be a success, at least when it comes to profit.

For me, it's how the game seems to play. The design of the whole thing seems to be phenomenal.

For example, I quite like the idea of having an RPG which I don't have to be restricted by a certain skill-set. In Skyrim, you get all the skills, and you level them as you please. That's a major selling-point for me.

I know that it was basically the same in Oblivion, but in Oblivion you had your primary skills and the rest were secondary, which I didn't really like very much.

Also, there will be randomly generated dragons in the game, which is pretty fucking cool as far as that sorta thing goes.
couldnt have said it better :p the biggest selling point for me... no effing oblivion gates, but free roaming dragons instead... yum!

Skyrim is going to be brilliant for so many reasons. If you'd played an Elder Scrolls game, you'd understand. Or maybe you wouldn't, but really that's okay too. What you don't do is tell people to "explain why it's good" and then argue their points every step of the way. It's counterproductive and utterly pointless, and I really don't understand why these threads still exist.
