Well, I WAS going to talk about I Wanna Be the Guy, since it is the hardest game I have ever played, BUT I dusted off my shelf last week and found Digimon World 4.

I can tell what you're thinking but hear me out.

It's a game that allows 4 player Co-Op, but when I looked at it, I decided that I don't need Co-Op play to beat it because I'm a man. About half an hour past the dialogue I learned that if you don't have anyone to play with you, it can be EVEN HARDER than Demons Souls. The game will kill you and kill you and kill you constantly until you are the apporpriate level or have friends! It took me 4-6 hours to clear the first level on my own, and then an even harder boss popped his head out and killed me. This game is THE most evil game in all of creation. Disguised as something good with kids before driving you to insanity as you question your worth as a gamer, pondering that if you couldn't beat a licensed game for a show that is watched by children, then what exactly could you do as a gamer.

If this has happened to you, I recommend you play something with alot of blood and satisfying difficulty like Gears of War 1.

Calumon: I wasn't in that game, I couldn't get far enough for them to let me in.

The original Zelda was pretty hard when I played it at the tender age of 5. So was Half-Life at 12. Got to the silo-monster bit and just rage quit. Only to pick it up again a decade later and waltz though the entire thing. Battletoads have always been notorious for difficulty...I remember the Castlevania on the SNES was pretty freaking hard.
Oh And Duck Tales...kicked my ASS and have never beaten it.

All modern games seem to be pieces of cake compared to back then. Maybe it's because I have better hand-eye coordination or maybe game designers are pussies?

World at War on Veteran. That was so frustrating.... but damn it was rewarding in the end. If only the game didn't erase my progress for some reason.... oh well, I still got the trophies to prove it.
exactly my thoughts on this, the worst veteran completion of my life :)

Omega Boost on hard. I could only finish it on normal on my emulator with save states. Still haven't actually finished it on my Playstation yet.

Probably Devil may cry 3. I couldn't finish that fucker on easy. I'm no good at hack 'n' slashers though.

Hardest one I beat in full was probably F-zero Gx. I still go on about that one, and I probably will until they make a damn new one. Seriously good game.

Probably not the hardest game I have ever played (I did also play the original Prince of Persia like the OP) but Trials HD for 360 is really hard to be good at, specially as my brothers friends has set some pretty tough records to beat, and the Extreme Difficulty is brutal. It's the most fun I've had with a HARD game for a years.

Ghost Recon 2. Three bullets and you are dead. That game made me appreciate cover.

A text based game on the C64 called: suspended. You had control over a few robots that only had one basic function like, visual, audio and movement sensors. The game started with you waking up in the control room that was on red alert and had to figure out what was wrong.

I loved the original Prince of Persia, actually. But I eventually got stuck on a SINGLE part and never played it from then on...

I thin the hardest I've played is probably... Team Fortress 2. It has got to be one of THE hardest games to master.

The Void. I had never died so many times because that game. Still remains as one of my favorites of all time though.

Then it's COD2 on Veteran. I did manage to finish it though.

Then it's POP 2 in the hardest mode available.
