I would say Hunted: The Demon's Forge. It gave me the feeling of going through dungeons like I di back in Diablo, Dark Cloud and other games in that nature. Dungeon crawlers now days seem kind of lost

Fallout: New Vegas I love the series. Seeing as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are my two favourite series of video games the same thing will happen with Skyrim.

God of War 3. The excitement didn't last long, as the game had some dull levels and dragged on in some sections. The opening sequence was fantastic though.

I miss being a kid :(

Anyway, Halo Reach, I was going to install it to my hard drive to make it run faster and quieter before I played it for the first time, I literally screamed in excitement and cancelled it half way and just played the fucking game.

Didn't have that in a long...looooooooooooong time. But I know Deus Ex: Human Revolution will cause that kind of excitement in me.

I remember days like that... coming home from Blockbuster with a brand new rented Gamecube game... probably the only game I've ever gotten that excited for again was Pokemon Black in the sense that on release day I had to go to work at like 11 so I went to GameStop as soon as it opened and played it in my work's parking lot until I had to go in.

Probably the next game that will be like that for me is Gears of War 3. Words can't properly explain how excited I am for it and every time I hear news about it I start getting pumped. That's going to be one of those games that I'll have to stop myself from opening in the car ride home.

Wipeout HD. For the first time in years, I sat playing for more than five hours, more or less transfixed. It actually reminds me of a game (Star Wars pod racing) I did play when I was younger.

Megaman 9. There was just something about how whole hog the development team went in making it almost perfectly retro. It's amazing how good a game can be when all the emphasis is on gameplay.

Playing Little Big Planet with friends... we had to restart a lot of levels... WORTH IT! Oh and playing Crysis(1) to go blow up stuff, but that was more evil excitement.

I can't say I had childlike excitement to play New Vegas (I didn't know if it would work all that well), but I am having childlike joy playing it, sicne it works, and it's so damn wonderful.

Portal 2.

I got that game home and played it from start to finish in one sitting. It was a good day.

I was very excited for LA Noire as well, just not as much as Portal 2.

Just got Killing Floor, first game (I play medic btw) in about 30 seconds everyone got blown up but me and and a Firebug.

Needless to say, we endured the rest of the 200ish zombies and got infinite intarwebs.

By Odin's eye I love that game.

Pokemon Black & White. I actually went to the midnight release, and I played it until about 5am. I picked it up again immediately after I woke up that afternoon. Pokemon Blue was my very first video game ever, so the Pokemon series has always been very near to my heart.

Portal 2 was a more recent example though. Oh god I was so pumped. I sat down with a friend of mine who enjoys watching me play vidya and we completed it together that night after about 6 hours. Though she doesn't enjoy playing herself, she really helped me out with some of the puzzles-- it helps to have two pairs of eyes and two brains working at once.
